One day a month i have to use public transport. An accident on the A19 near Testos means the bus takes 1hr 30mins to do 5 miles, never been so jealous of other *********** cyclists filtering through the stationary traffic. After working through lunch to have an early finish I wasn't happy. To make it worse couldnt even get off and walk due to a broken toe from kicking a desk.

That idiot who filled up about 2 miles of road between St Albans and Harpender with fine gravel.
I had to take primary for all the way along as anywhere than the two valleys carved out by the car tires.
Two inches deep everywhere else and was a real pain once I had to pass all the stationary traffic.
Why are they doing this?
They are doing a lot of that round my way too. It is a nightmare, I can only assume that whoever signs it off has never driven/motorcycled or cycled anywhere.
The biggest problem is they don' fill in any potholes or bad patches of road before doing it so the new surface is just as bad just a bit smoother into the holes!
Yep. Came across some in South Wales the other day. Didn't think it would be far. Got a mile in, it went on forever, 3 miles in total. Half way in, Highways Van parked, hazards on, have to go round it. Middle of road is inches deep in the stuff. Like snow, where the traffic was, nothing, but all pushed out beyond the tracks.
give it a few weeks and the new stuff will start cracking and breaking bits off and the bit that has just been redone will be much worse than the road either side of it. It is worse than a waste of money because it actually makes things worse!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

Been having difficulty with the zip on one of my jersies the last few times I wore it, took it off and tried to zip it up for the washing machine and the metal bit at the bottom fell of so now it's in the bin. Was a jersey I bought in the classifieds some not new or expensive but still annoying.

If you are going to weave around pedestrian crossings or roll down the pavement with one foot un-clipped just jump the f**king red light already.0

angry man on a bike this morning not knowing common courtesy and decided to come straight through the middle of a tiny gap between my friend and i who were chatting as we were riding in the bus lane.
then he decided to get confrontational at the next traffic lights and the set after as well.

Message to the idiot: if you buy an electronic groupset which is new but removed from the bike 8 months ago and ride around a few hundred miles then don't get surprised when it stops working. You 'may' have to spin the rest of the 40 miles home doing 100 RPM...

yeah I didnt check the weather forecast for today properly. I might dry out by next week.0

Like most people I got wet today on the way to work and also on the way home but less so.
Riding through the centre and I see a drain cover so make sure I ride over it safely then once clear of it I have to avoid the suicidal ped crossing the road 10 foot in front of me.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

moved from CS8 to CS7 all of three weeks ago and it is not a fun place to cycle... racing feels like an act of folly0 -

The year I decided to start cycle commuting in earnest. At least now I know it's (hopefully) not always going to be like this.0 -

Pedestrian crossing by Lotts Road is a pedestrian crossing for pedestrians. The amount of times cyclists have careered into my path without checking is mind boggling. And before anyone says it, yes, i do check and slow for it every single time.0

Well done for keeping going with it though

I made a mistake today. Possibly. Hard to know. Roundabout. Tricky one to get onto. Van driver not signalling, pull out as he passes. Then he signals. I'm going to go behind him but he seems to panic. I dunno, something like that. To quick to register. Perhaps I was daydreaming. I stop. Tell him to carry on (he has passed me and has just come to a complete stop for some reason).
Perhaps I scared him. Perhaps he had a glance at my mortality.
But he quickly regained composure and labelled me a vagina, a masturbator and that I gave all cyclists a bad name.
