Will PM you about the XT (will get info on Wednesday)

His forks were Rockshox Judy TT's I think, & he only ever got 80% of the full travel.

What forks do you have & how much travel are you getting? (they may take a few rides to bed in properly, or the preload may be set too high)

my forks are SR suntour xcr, i'm only getting about 60%, and i have done probably over ten rides, varying in terrain, when i went to sherwood pines i still onnly got about 60%, mind you around here the terrain is sometimes bumpeir than sherwood pines
after every ride i clean and re lube my forks so i dont realy see a problem there...
thank you for finding out about the xt

Ok, is the preload set to minimum?

What are you using to lube your fork?

i was using 3 in 1 oil but it didnt seem to do much good so...now im using duckhams lb-10 grease wich seems to brong the muck out of the wiper seels> :D
oh and on mine i have rebound thats set to minimum but if i have it set at maximum or near there then it only gives about 50% travel. :?

You should only use a specific cycle fork lube or fork fluid, or a Teflon based lube for lubing forks, as some lubes can rot/swell the seals! (unless the manual for the forks says different)

Finish Line Dry lube is Teflon based & you can get it from Velosport on Clps High St. Fork oil maybe halfords, but the Teflon lube has more uses than just pure fork oil.

They are rather tasty, only has a little ride, but they are loads smoother shifting than any other crankset I've had.

  • Hi all,
I'm from grimsby! i usually start from my riding buddys at north thoresby and ride onto the wolds, taking bridleways and making the route up as we go along. route takes us through wold newton, binbrook, louth, bigby, croxby etc..
also willingham woods where the north shore/freeride style routes are (although yet to become a member).
if anyone is interested in a ride sometime PM me as i'm out about 3 times a week
    Cheers,
    Louis
