The route we used to ride started at Morrisons, through the golf course into the back of Irby then down for a loop of Swallow Vale before coming back out through Laceby and back to the start.

Theres some nice singletrack in Swallow Vale but the current landowners/gamekeepers have made it quite clear they don't want anyone straying from the bridleway which is a real shame as it wasn't doing anyone any harm. Plus they were quite rude about it !

Other then that I think you're probably limited to the odd farm track with the area being pretty flat. I'm told by my mother that she quite often sees people on mountain bikes crossing the A18 near Barnolby Le Beck but I've not really ventured over that way yet so I don't really know whats about. Best bet is just to ride out into the countryside and see what you come across or get the OS Explorer map for the area.

wat a looser...i hate it when people try to stop you from riding its sooo frustrating.
the route i ride does cross the a18

you go through barnolby le beck to hatcliffe up hat cliffe valley (wich is a fair road section),
to east ravendale up to wold newton then hawerby into east ravendale again,(its quite a big loop)
then to ashby cum fenby to brigsley(if your luky the ice cream shop will be open, and they are gorgous ice creams),
to old waltham back to barnoldby le beck then up to bradley woods(on the way you could visit the suposidly haunted bradley gairs and spook each other out, especialy in an evening in january) :o

all in all its a good ride but yes its quite flat, however there are a couple of fast but short down hill and syeep technical uphills( especialy when wet) :D
good ride thats about 20 mile.

From Weelsby Woods out over the Parkway, through Scartho, to Bradley Woods & beyond to Irby, Caistor, Swallow etc.

Usually just do a loop to Irby & back though.

    hey hey a Meggie!

True there are quite a few trails, but they're pure xc mostly, still it's getting out for a ride.

Yeah I've been down there with a member, lots of freeride type stuff & some DH stuff.

Not been in a while though.

I prefer wooded/epic singletrack stuff with fun sections & maybe a little airtime too ;)

i think sum dedicated people in this area shud like sign a petition or sumart to say that we can build some biker freindly trails(wiv the fun bits of course) and then get sum vaulenteers to help build em...but the bloody council get in a tissy as soon as you bike down a street, the council are a bunch of panzies mostly, but there are sum of them that are alright. :)

when you go through scartho do you go down fallowfeild road and through some small woods????
if so, when its wet be careful on the corner were there is a small bit of water (the bit were there is a lot of green stuff in the water at the moment). when me and a freind went for a ride his front tyre slid out and he hit the corner and went head first into the water...he never comes on rides with me any more... :D

I know that corner, it's a slop fest through that wooded section!

It never seems to dry out, just like some of Weelbsy Woods

hehe...ano its anoying, if you bike with a mate try race each other down it one, of you is bound to end up with a mouth full of mud...there is some nice tracks around somewhere i cant remember the name of, but its not single track more like triple track, some bits are annoying, its part of the wolds challenge course. its steep, i was quite hard on the brakes coz i didnt no what was around the corner...and then out of no where there was a sharp right hand turn and then a terrible steep climb, i fell of (i had brain freeze and forgot to unclip my SPD's) my tyre had fallen into a huge rut and ended up with a face full of nettle's.
    its all gd fun.
p.s. you wouldn't happen to work at what was cycle trax would you??? :)

its quite a killer for everyone, all the people that have been down that track with me underestimate that corner and come off.
have any of you seen some small jumps on the left of that feild before the killer corner????
small and pretty rubbish but they're getting there...sort of

Are you on about the killer corner marked around the 19 mile marker on this map? http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2014588

This is my usual route for a good 20 miler, it does vary a bit sometimes though.
