-
I've got a new job that I'm starting soon based in Brentwood, is the nearest ride on here the Thorndon one? i won't actually be able to go for a while as I'm at the new job for 4 days then going away to get married for three weeks but after thati'm well up for it! What sort of times do you guys meet up and how long do you usually ride for?
I haven't time to look throught the 70 odd pages lol0 -
either saturday at 9 from the ski slope with them lot or 9:30 on a sunday with me and my bunch but i'm not every week as i tend to go and play in other places too.0
-
Ah right, what days are there rides in the evenings? I was hoping to go for a ride after work you see, are there any nearby?
I will however try to get down for a sunday ride, are you all superfit XC whippets?0 -
Nope dedinatly not fast and not whippit like:)
I do ride of a night time but over fryerning0 -
Ah that's OK then, I'm not all that fast! I didn't realise there were trails near the ski slopes, I'll have to try and make it down for a sunday0
-
Freyrning is on my way back home by the way, I should be able to start riding there in November, just in time for a massive lights upgrade!0
-
you will need massive lights its not the most technical or the most demanding etc but we do start and finish at a pub just what you need on a mid week ride.0
-
Nice, i've needed an excuse for a big 'off light i'm thinking a troutelight, or about 4 PP7's :-) What pub is it you meet at?0
-
I use a Magicshine 900 lumen thisng and thats awesome enough for me.
www.dealextreme.com bargain0 -
thorndon to landon hills (got lost on route ) but thanks to muddy legs popping up out of the woods we were saved robert and i rode ourselves into the ground but had a good ride .. there is some good stuff over there rode some of mud sweat and gears trail .. good luck tomorrow if your riding that see you on the trails :twisted:0
-
warley gap where there are the two bomb hole dips ... well on the second one just as your picking up a nice bit of speed there is a tree in the way quite a big one aswell so eyes open heads up have fun :twisted:0
-
Anyone up for thorndon tomorrow morning?0
-
id take that as a no0
-
did any one go out to warley/thorndon ?what are the trails like looking at a mid week trip and want to know if to put mudgaurds on0
-
They were much better than the previous week, more muddy puddles than muddy trails.
If it doesn't rain in the next few days it will be pretty dry again. Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0 -
thanks mate you out in the week ? dont think it will be till after 6/7ish0
-
So who is up for a ride Saturday at Thorndon, 9am at the Kart Track car park. Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0
-
I'll be there!
Rich0 -
Rich, hows it being back
hope robert was easy on ya0 -
It was a Billy no mates ride for me, still I hardly stopped for two and a half hours.
Conditions were pretty slippery after all that rain, add to that wet leaves and tons of sweet chestnut, wished I'd had the mud tyres on.Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0 -
why didnt you have mud tyres on :?:
surely there were some signs it might be muddy?
we will be there sunday if anyone wants to join us?0 -
Yep, agree with Robert.
Was over there yesterday AM, has a few skectchy moments with mud and leaf litter!
Bike cleaned up surprisingly quickly though.
Bracing myself for regular cleaning now
Have to say that Thorndon is my favourite local. I'd say Langdon (which my riding bud prefers) is more 'alll weather' but I do love getting muddy :twisted:0 -
