Nope, no idea.
He's obviously got a bee in his bonnet about financial services, tradesmen and anyone who is in charge of anyone else. Oh and southerners.

Does make a change from "I've got a CTW voucher...which bike for £1000?"0 -

Officers claim the bike, which is designed to be used for tricks and jumps, helps build a rapport with young people and could assist in pursuits through urban back streets.
Hmm sure i made similar post elsewhere in the forums but I thought a rapport was built up with their extending baton i.e they should be scared to cross the police and imho the best tool for pursuing through urban back streets is a excitable german shepherd.
FFS these little scrotes don't respect property, people or police how the flip is some 30yr old trying to be cool again make them respect the police.

Iv "got a mate" who is 22 and a police bike rider, the training is short and mainly covers personal safety. The official word on the bikes is that they are used to get from A to B and not for patrols. But inevitably things happen that need dealing with. "He" ensures he sticks to the rules of the road all of the time and will only stray to the paths to explore alleys/areas away from public view for the benefit of the local community and their safety. The rules are only ever broken when they can be justified and remember the police are there to help.
As for the bikes being used to build rapport, everyone that gets stopped by an officer on a bike will without fail say one of three things:
"can I have a go on your bike?"
"how much does your bike cost?"
"I bet I could beat you in a race/you would never catch me on that bike"0 -
The Grauniad Bike Blog covered this subject recently, asking in a jocular but dismissive manner why it needed a 10 hour course to teach Plod to ride a bike. Here it is: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/green-living-blog/2010/mar/23/cycling-course-police
Soon after the blogerspherisist responsible for that ate his words in a follow up article - here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/green-living-blog/2010/apr/14/wrong-police-bike-training
Apologies if this has already been covered. Like MeOnABike, I can't read all through this thread. Too many words.
