Ok The first meet will be on sunday the 10th of feb at the old school pub in mount hawk. Ride will start at 11am so turn up just before. Please park on road so not to cog up car park thanks.

I know some of you just want to turn up and have a ggod ride , and some of you are intrested in helping out with sorting insurance and ride locations etc.

I got the impression that some stuff about how far from truro we ride and for how long and at what time we start the rides bothered some but everything can be changed and discussed. Dont forget there may be complete new riders or young riders there and over two hours may scare them off also sunday was the most freest day for most.11ish was the best time for most not to late and not to early. The time , date and length of the rides was decided on feed back from people who were intrested in joining.

I cant please every one im doing my best and cant wait for help sorting stuff out.

I hope you all understand that things may take a few weeks to sort untill we tune into the needs of every one and sort any probs out.

I cant wait to meet every one at the first ride. Dont forget the main aim is to have a dam good ride and meet new people.

See you all soon

See you on the 10 02
Four years ago a bloke called paul started a club by placing ads in the bike shops. He had a very good turn out at the first ride from Highcross. The group ranged from a ten year old and his dad through to a group of chodskis. Only having one leader soon became a problem due to experience levels. sadly some suffered and dropped.
The experienced riders who pushed the pace never turned up again. The 10 year old and dad turned up for the next 5 rides along with the other newbies and where great fun to ride with!
A couple of maps or route sheets might help please everyone, Racers can then race off

The club will be almost totaly run by the riders input and we can all have some long and short rides etc and in loads of places it will all work out fine when we all have a vote on starting time and rough ride length etc.

I am aware of all the stuff some of you have been saying, after the ride on sun the 10th we will have a good chat and sort out some things so we can all realy get what we want from the club with out putting some riders off.

Chill out its going to be a good laf!!!

Hey DH, LHance and FSR - three of us are well keen and failed to meet up on Saturday but will try again - any Truro area rides are cool and we are all flexible on meeting times.

Me, my wife and her mate (female...).

    Matt,
I had a great ride today with Warm18 up at Dunmere. . . . . I think he liked it - muddy smiles all round!

What are you (/anyone) thinking about doing next Sun?
Do you know which are the better Clive Mitchell routes? (most off road)

btw I can't do Sat as I have to pick my bike up and drive a (very fast) sports car, otherwise I would have suggested meeting the Yogi boys in Plymouth.

    It's called a Murtaya.

In road trim it came second in the 0-60 challenge at Trax (Silverstone) against various Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsche's etc.

They debuted the Rally car at Autosport (NEC) earlier this month

    And it looks like this:

I've heard of them - Newquay based I think?
350ish bhp and 60 in about 3.5 seconds?

Do you know the guys making it?
Sounds like a lot of fun to me!

Hey FSR - You take some really good pics!

Hard to get car pics right.

My old car that I loved but had to sell (repeated vandalism when we lived in Bristol):

Do you do much other stuff?
I run a PR firm and we often need decent photographers.

    Matt you have PM.

Yep, know the guys. Do a lot of their photography.

The figures you have are a little old. I believe that was the 260-280bhp version. I doubt it will be much more though as there is a lot more than power needed to make big gains 0-60.

    Really enjoyed the ride.

Not aching? . . . . must have spent too much time chatting. So we'll have to ride quicker & longer next time.

For anyone thinking of a good XC ride, I challenge you to find somewhere better than Dunmere in Cornwall.
    AND let's ride it sometime

There are a few 'I'll try to make it' posts, but who's going to commit to going?

I for one, want to get out there and ride as much as I can.

    I want to meet different people & ride different places . . . .

    So I will be there.

I look forward to meeting many others.

  • I will be there unless Junior gives me the lurgy.
  • I'll definitely be there! sun or rain! there's plenty of good riding, coastal or inland. It can be as technical and demanding as necessary or more easygoing depending on the crew that turn up, just need that initial turnout!!!! come on, you know you want to.

only one request! please wear a helmet!!

Saw two well kitted up MTBers on decent Spesh bikes.
