Medway Kent????????????

  • Cheers,

Being new to the area and mainly being a road rider - I need to meet some new people into MTB'ing.

Out of interest anyone fancy joining me to do the London 2 Brighton later this year.

I'll keep an eye out on this forum, if you decide to do Cobham early Feb PM me with the details and I'll be more than up for it.

Hope to see you all later.
  • I'm looking to start again, not ridden for a while due to illness so lost a lot of my fitness (well what I had) so may wait a few weeks (months) until I feel I can make it as wouldn't want to hold anyone back. Also got a cheapish bike but hasn't stopped me attacking things so far. I'm in Medway as well and would be up for a local ride or maybe Blean if no one leaves me to get lost :-(

If you fancy Blean on Saturday you're welcome to come along. We have different levels of experience and everyone is very accomodating - nobody gets left behind! We're in it because we enjoy riding so aren't out to break any records :D Check out the XC in Kent thread and let us know if you fancy it 8)

Whereabouts do you ride in Medway?

    Feltwhite,

Depends really and as said above not been out for a while. If energetic then it's a ride up to the North Downs way at the top of Boxley Hill and then around there and Bluebell Hill and if still have energy left over to Vigo and Trosley Park.

Unenergetic I go out around the riverside and up to the Sheppy Bridge, too many roads that way though but it's excercise.

Writing that has made me realise I need to off my backside and get out and enjoy the ride :-)

  • Pittpony and Impished,

Thanks for the invite and I'll surely take you up on it in a few weeks. Want to see how bad I am without embarassment when I get back out after a few months of inactivity. I'm sure I'll get some miles in over the next few weeks and move from backwards to slow so I can joiin you all.

  • Hi guys,

I went out to Pilgrims way this morning (19th Jan) and completed the route around Bluebell Hill - Detlin and back was a pretty good ride although extremely muddy, caused me lots of problems with messing up the back suspension and front forks (dragging loads)

I'm hoping to do the same route again next week, anyone up for a slow ride around the area?

Im looking to start around half 9 to 10.

    Let me know.

  • Sorry I can't make the Sunday the Wife will only let me go out once per week (she says I love my bikes more than her)

I'll definitely be up for meeting up with everyone soon, I love riding but it gets very boring by yourself.

Hope to see the Forum guys soon.

  • Neilhead,

I'm interested in whereabouts you ride out that way. I'd love to turn up tomorrow and find out but sadly cannot as I have other commitments. Will be interested if you do another from there in the near future though. I've almost got some enthusiasm up now.

Bikes are for riding not showing off with. if it works ok then you will have a good day.
at the end of the ride they all look quite literally crappy :D
The only award is for falling over and that title is MINE :D:D:D:D

  • Neilhead,

I'll keep an eye out in the rides section then. 2nd Feb will be my next available sunday so I should be able to get a little practice in getting wet before then.

Also might be able to challenge you for the falling off in style award. :-)
