Met loads of rock and metal bands in the 80s on account of working for a metal magazine. Oh yeah and Jonathan King who financed the thing, don't talk about that one very much lol!0 -
I have seen:
Keith Chegwin at RUDA holiday camp in Devon.
Jimmy Somerville being chased down the platform at Paddington by (I presume) some homophobes - think he got away ok.
Bernard Sumner from New Order in that bar under the railway arch beween the Poly and The Cornerhouse.
Best one was when I was working near Bangor staying at Seiont Manor near Caernarfon a few years ago. I saw a stunning brunette in the hotel reception accompanied by some lackeys.
It was Angelina Jolie filming one of the Tomb Raider movies. The penny only dropped after she went off to her room. Absolutely top notch in the flesh.It\'s Only Rock n\' Roll But I Like It!0 -
Had an italian meal with Sean Kelly, we went halfers on the bill.
However that can never top the fact that Ken Dodd ran out of a theatre stage door and knocked my granny on her arse in the sixties. He was very nice and took her for a cup of tea even though he was clearly busy.
A mate of mine is the cousin of 'Edge' from pop musics The U2. He was the drummer in Catatonia and when he went to see The U2 he said that there were dozens of people backstage who all looked like his cousin, who is called Dave.
A mate of mine is the cousin of John Boy Walton.
My mates are playing a gig with Jeremy Dyson, writer on The League of Gentlemen, on Dec 7, Chameleon Cafe, Nottingham (£4). Feel free to come along.0 -

Saw Richard and Judy at a pub near me on father's day this year. Richard looks like a right tosspot which is matched by the fact he drives a garish yellow convertible Beetle. Twat!
Saw Claudia Schiffer years back but didn't know who she was.
Robert Winston came and had a nose to find out what event my work was hosting at the House of Lords. Seemed quite a barmy fellow!
Colleen Nolan was outside my office this afternoon - but I don't know who she is!
Edited because for some reason it thought I was calling Richard Madeley a fool when I said nothing of the sort!

There is a good chance that we know each other then!
Certainly worked in the same industry.....
Gotta love those bobble hatters. I gave one a Touring Car bonnet as a souvenir once. Problam was he was in a Fiat Uno. Watching him strap it to the roof so he could get it home was just ace!0 -

Very, very skinny though. When I saw her she was modelling some gold dress thing that was all tied up at the back because she was so tiny for it.

Met John Entwhiistle a couple of times, lost a game of pool to trumpeter Rico Rodriguez and used to know Troy Tate of The Teardrop Explodes. He was called Malcolm Tate when I knew him though. Also, I used to know some of the guys who went on to form PigBag. On a sporting note, the bloke who taught me to drive also taught Ian Botham.

Funnily enough I also know someone with a touring car bonnet as a souvenir! She got it before she met her current beau, who works in the industry, needless to say he is mortified by it!

Even smaller world...I used to write some of the press releases regarding the F2 Astra (Neil Wearden and Jarmo Kytolehto?) and on one occasion the Primera after RML took the manufacturer's title at Knockhill and no one realised they couldn't be caught in the points till the next morning!
Company I worked for was employed by both Vauxhall and RML for PR work.
Still freelancing in the sport PR field.Chocolate makes your clothes shrink0 -
MK too!
For the MK based "team of many names"
Been here since the very early days of wee Jackie Stewart.
Know a few RML people too.0 -
Front Page of nearly every tabloid in 98', as I was with a mate(famous footballer) in a bar that he should not have been in,due to the fact that the World Cup was starting in a weeks time.
Best headline was in the Sun, just Said PATHETIC! above our heads.Bc0 -

A friend of mine was at a dinner party a few years back. Towards the end of the meal the lady sitting next to him asked him what he did, when he asked her what she did (such a cad), she replied “I’m the Queen of Greece, in exile”.
I used to live next door to the keyboard player from the 80s band Halo James, which was nice. I also met Van Morrison in a street in Bath, I didn’t recognise him, but my friend got so excited she just had to speak to him.0 -
I have got to know Arthur Guinness quite well over the last twenty years or so. I find he's quite controlling, and one can get quite drunk in his presence. He routinely visits late in the day, while a close companion of his, the well known A H Angover comes along rudely in the morning... he's a right bastard sometimes.
Years ago when on a train a bunch of school kids thought I was John Lukic, the Arsenal goalkeeper, so I duly obliged by signing thirty or so autographs.0 -
Once did a workshop with the guy who shot the covers for American 1 and 2 by Johnny Cash [Andy Earl]. Also my dad was at art school with Jimi Hendrix's bass player."With just a little luck
