    Try one of these,

    http://www.abel-cole.co.uk/

Delivered to your door and then you get 'forced' to try different stuff you might not have bothered with before.

There are similar companies in other areas, google for veggie box.
  • I don't manage to eat 5 x fruit and veg a day every day. Neither do I eat lots of pizzas or burgers or pre-prepared meals. Most food stuff that is wholesome and nourishing is pretty good to eat as well, and having a variety of foods on the plate makes it more interesting and appealing. So just eat and enjoy; there's no need to count.

The trouble is, Mike, that it's not immediately obvious to everyone what is "wholesome and nourishing." I have a neighbour who needs to lose weight but his idea of a healthy meal is a cornish pasty and a plate of salad. Another favourite of his is a pork pie. He thinks he's being good because he avoids potatoes!

ps. thanks for that link Bryanm. I'm half tempted!

I would place Cornish Pasties and Pork Pies into the category of pre-prepared meals.
Anything that you cook yourself is usually OK as you can get rid of surplus fat in the preparation.

Potatoes are OK though aren't they?

My problem is ham and cheese, although I've read recently that the body doesn't absorb much of the fat in cheese.

It seems if you have a diet rich in calcium then the body excretes more fat than it otherwise would.

Cheese is back on the menu boys.

Hell after reading this i think i've got a weight problem!

All these 6ft plus under 11.5 stones!

I'm 5ft 8in and in july this year i was 12 stone 10ib, but after training with weights and doing lots of Mountain biking i'm down to 12st 2lb, i wouldn't want to go under 12st as i'm reasonably fit aerobically and train alot doing climbs and reasonably strong.

What is deemed as being to heavy? i have 31 inch waist and 41 inch chest so don't see myself as being fat!?

I must say 320DM it's nice to hear someone say they're happy with their weight on the forum - I was starting to think I was a bit odd being perfectly content at 6ft and 13 stone!

I'm in no way knocking those that are using cycling to get down to a 'healthy' weight - good on you and best of luck - but to be 6ft/11.5 stone and unhappy about your weight - that's a bit worrying, no?

I agree, i'm from up north where men are men and women are glad of it LOL :) and to be honest as much as i love cycling i wouldn't want to be to skinny, my wife would think she was in bed with a bag of bones!!
