Aussies played well. But think that the Boks will out muscle the Welsh and the Bok half backs were awsome.

Wales will win their group, should beat Australia in Cardiff to set up a Wales - England Quarter final, which I'm hopeful that Wales will win. I'd imagine the teams in the semis to be Wales/England, SA, All Blacks and France.

I'd imagine that SA, the ABs or France to win, you can never discount Australia though. The All Blacks should walk it, they are easily the best team in the world, but they can easily lose a Semi or the Final to any of SA, France or Australia, they seem to come unstuck towards the final stages.

James Hook for player of the Tournament.

Wallabies to annihilate Wales. Go you good thang!!!

Nah, Wales v Aus in Cardiff has been a close run thing recently, I was there last year at the 29-29 draw, we had played poor in every match up to that aswell. I'm confident we can put up a good contest at least.

    How sweet it is
  • England were appaulling. The only player who seemed to want to be there was Robinson and we may well have seen the last of him. At least he went out on a high. The others were hopeless. They had no idea what to do with the ball when they did have it. Farrel just hoofed it straight down the middle of the field and gave possesion back to the Spring Boks :?

Based on this display and the one against USA, which was even worse, I can't see us beating either Samoa or Tonga.

Still if that happens they may have a management clear out and start to rebuild in time for the next World Cup.

Is was horrible as an Englishman to watch but part of me wants them to get beaten by an underdog :(

  • Still the england cricket team could stop of in France and pick the rugby boys up on the way home(save on their carbon footprint). And all the lads could watch their respective semi's in the comfort of their front rooms

The France v Ireland game was great!

I have not really enjoyed many games so far, but this was good.
  • It was, apart from picking once again the wrong damn french players for the fantasy league... what a useless lump Jauzion was again tonight.

I thought the Irish were poor again, O'Gara struggling means they all struggle, his kicking was way below par. France could and should have ripped them to shreds, but didnt quite ignite the rockets, despite looking like they would a couple of times. Unless Ireland play better with more discipline in every sense they might not even beat Argentina, let alone get a bonus point: so bye bye to them. France look as likely winners of the tournament as Wales do, and neither do. C'mon Samoa! :D

The South Africa v Tonga game was fantastic - best game I have watched yet.

England will have to watch out for the Tongans.
  • The All Blacks v Scotland was just 30 men all in the same kit tackling each other, quite bizzare. Especially when the all blacks do have a black kit, funnily enough, and the scots have a change kit of white

At least on sunday you could see the ref, who must have enduered nightmares trying to make anything of the rucks
  • So, England to continue to improve, beat Tonga then ambush Oz in the quarters?!

Will Greenwood seemed pretty sure that would be the case. I can't see it. I suppose we could battle to some hideous victory over the aussies, we'd certainly be motivated enough, but I fear they have too much quality.

Friday night should be interesting. Have the Tongans got another big performance in them? I think we'll beat them personally, just through more intelligent play. But it'll certainly be a hard match.

Wales should beat Fiji aswell but I think its all over for Ireland. Scotland will have a tough test against Italy. I think both teams will be looking at it as the key match of the group so it'll be close.

  • Sod it  Wife's birthday today and she has arranged for us to go out ot dinner with friends. What's so wrong with that you might ask?

Well the dinner is arranged for tomorrow night...at....8 o'clock :(:cry:

I've never been to the resturant before but I doubt if it will have a telly :(

I've got a small portable radio thingy, similar to an ipod but its a radio. I could slip the ear piece in but as I'm bald as a coot she's bound to spot it.

    I know, I'll wear a hat :)

I was implying that you should put the rugby first... no pun and certainly not clever... this time

Ah I see, makes sense now. Unfortunately the dinner is a 3 line whip :( I even tried to pursuade the friends who are coming with us to throw a sicky but his wife found out and put a stop to that.

At least I'll have some credit in the bank for when I want to go on a long ride :)

What is it with women though, men are generally bigger and stronger, certainly more intellegent and yet we still seem to do as we're told, the lure of the leg over I guess

  • Beckenham : Is there a babysitter involved who could perhaps call in sick for an agreed fee ?
HeavyMental : Ireland to score 27 points against Argentina when we've managed 3 against France and 14 against Georgia and shouldnt really have got one of the ones against Namibia. .. No way hose...

Anyway I reckon we need to have a nickname after some wild animal to do well...
Wallabies, Kiwis, Springboks and Pumas all going great guns. You see thats the problem .. not enough wild animals in Northern Hemisphere.

  • Unlucky all you England haters. Pretty pleased with my prediction....only 2 and 3 points out on the actual score....which was 36-20.

Not a bad display from England. still a few scrappy errors but they looked alright. Sackey was lucky with both his tries but took the chances well so can't knock that. I think this England team are quite enjoying having their backs to the wall. I think we'll get turned over by Australia next week, but I don't think it'll be easy for the Aussies.....and I don't think its beyond the realms of possibility for us to actually win the game :)

best we've played all world cup - I only wish looking terrible was our tactic all the time to fool the opposition
  • Lots of smiles on faces weren't there. Good to see. Faz looked over the moon to have got a very decent try on his CV. Only thing that worries me slightly....I remember Woodward saying once that when he saw Australia celebrating and doing laps of honour when they won their semi final match last time around he thought to himself "hm...they don't look like a team that think they still have a job to do". Tonight England were laughing and joking out on the pitch for ages afterwards. Fair enough of course but I just found it interesting. If Woodwards thoughts were right then I don't think this team really believes they're on their way to the final. Then again I think they're thinking of this competition as a smash and grab raid to go as far as they can so if they go full tilt at Australia who knows, they may come out the other side and find themselves looking at a semi final!

I've watched huge amount of international rugby, but I never seen so many giving it there all in the national anthems. Nearly every player from every country (that I've seen) have been singing their hearts outs.

Makes a change from football, when you see the overpaid nonces (footballers) during the national anthems, the couple that are singing are only doing it half heartedly, they just stand there with their mouths shuts looking like retards.
