  • Found a Polaris short sleeve cycle jersey in my local Halfords the other day when I went in for some spare innertubes. The label said £24.99, the reduced label said "Was £14.99, now £9.99" and the till said £4.99!

Not bad for a decent looking jersey, breathable and has 3 pockets in the rear! Just need some warm weather now so I can give it a try!!

I know peeps say they're comfy, and I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like an implement of torture. I'm cr@pping it about my commute tomorrow.

Can be a mixed bag. Very good for sundries like brake blocks, water bottles, puncture outfits, lube, cables, handlebar tape, inner tubes, etc., etc., also sometimes good for offers on cheap training/commuting tyres, and worth keeping an eye out for bargain clothing/shoes/helmets. Occasionally they also have discontinued/bankrupt stock framesets at reduced prices. Downside; if you're a roadie and use Campag stuff, the components and wheels on offer at attractive prices are invariably Shimano/Shimano-compatible kit :(

PC World have Garmin 205s for 50 quid!

Only thing they are collection only, and I could only find them in stock in Barrow in Furness & Stevenage, still, if you're near there and want a 205 you're laughing. Next cheapest for these would be 90 or so.

According to website, there's an Edge 205 in Truro (my local) & Taunton - both South West.

    Shame - I've already got a Forerunner 305.

I checked online and there seemed to be none available anywhere however I went in to my local store (Bradford) and they said they had 1 left. When he checked the stock it seemed all the local stores had one so if you were after one I would check your local store to see despite what the internet says. :D

Not wanting to send you on a goose chase at all but when I checked online and phoned up I was told there were none in however when I popped in to the Bradford store they checked the stock and said there was 1 left in stock. It looked like all the local stores had one in as well. I think the problem is when you phone head office they just check on the same internet thing customers use.

I was in Go Outdoors today and they were selling the Scott CR1 Team for £699! This is a full carbon frame with 105 components.

Unfortunately I can't justify it myself but could be a good buy for somebody

    Shimano RS20 wheels for under £100 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Shimano-WH-RS20-R ... dZViewItem

These are great wheels and they got a really good review in Cycling Plus recently. Service was first class from HighOnBikes and he's even auctioned a few pairs recently, got mine for just over £70 and can't believe how much of an improvement they are over the WH550's I had previously.

Don't hang about though, only 5 available!

They are training devices, that include basic GPS functions. You can, however, get them to accept pre-programmed routes and keep you on the right track so to speak. If you want what most people think of a GPS, ie turn by turn directions and maps, you'll be wanting the newer 605/705 models, but they'll set you back 170 quid upwards.

Always worth a look in the bargain bin at Halfords and have a word with the staff too. Went in last night, the bin said everthing was either £15, £10 or £5. I fished out a mtb cable set, a Topeak Alien multitool and a Conti GP3000 tyre. All without a price label so I asked the fella on the desk and he charged me £5 for each. Checked online later and the tool and tyre are £25ish usually. Also got a light that was £10 originally. Marked as £3 but when he scanned it it came up as 97p! Thats a bobby bargain! :D
