Here it is as a straight crop, just adjusted for brightness, and you can immediately see all the approximations.

Knowing where the boundaries lie is a handy skill to have. Applies to all mods.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

In my (extremely limited!) experience, the Dartford Warbler is a very gregarious bird. I once stood in the New Forest with a friend with one warbling away on the ground between the two of us - it was about 2ft away.

Nice to have a completely clear night sky last night. Took a slight detour heading home from choir to make the most of it. I was hoping the camera might pick up some aurora too as the stats had been good but nothing visible (typically I got a red alert just after going to be). Not the darkest of areas and unfortunately the local chavs like to drive around there and stop off for a joint so kept getting headlights spoiling frames but the lovely still water got some nice reflections. Photos are crops from panoramas (5 columns and 3 rows in portrait). Vertical shot was ISO 3200 and horizontal at ISO 1600 (both 15" exposures for each frame at f/2.8 at 13mm APS-C). More clear skies tonight so heading somewhere more rural and hoping the aurora develops this time too.

I like that the shadow in #1 looks like a person's silhouette.

Excuse the legs, but this was my attempt to catch DCC Pothole Department's attention, and I find the composition weirdly satisfying (apart from my feet not lining up quite properly).

Astro equivalent of making hay whilst the sun shines. Back out again last night to one of my favourite locations, Whitecastle. Finally managed to get the hang of blending the foreground (2 minute exposure at ISO 800) with the sky (15" at ISO 6400). I was intending trying my star tracker for the first time but was missing a ball head to set it up properly. Not sure why the southern horizon was so bright, there's no major settlement for miles in that direction. Orion to the top right and Sirius sitting dead centre. Probably the best / most realsitic sky colour I've managed so far in my processing, quite pleased with that.

I know it wouldn't be appropriate for this thread but I hope you took another shot to show the depth.

Our local council seemed to react rather quickly when the pothole was used as part of a phallic picture and reported via local and national media.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.2 -
I did take one from the side too, but maybe should have submerged a wheel or gone for a swim in it to back up the words wot I wrote. DC is actually normally pretty good when you report mortal dangers on popular cycling routes. This road seems to be an absolute nightmare for maintaining, as it sits on permanently wet and unstable foundations.

Quick one from the phone whilst out with the dog this evening. Another lovely sunset behind hills silhouetting the trees with the crescent moon and Venus. The focal length doesn’t do the moon and Venus any favours unfortunately.

It was nice light for a bit of #biketat this afternoon on my way to work.

Didn't really catch the contre-jour mistiness this afternoon, despite my best efforts.

Quick snap walking over London Bridge this morning.

Oxalis Triangularis- what a great name.

Quite a nicely symmetrical buzzard, and a face that's 600 years old but could almost be from 2025 graphic design.

Might be my last photo post here, with a nod to @masjer with the first cherry blossom of the year for me.

I’ve not seen any cherry blossom here yet, but more power to the flower with the last of the crocuses and an oxalis, which took a while to get ‘right’.
Hit a bit of a brick wall with photography, so happy enough with these.
I better up my game if I’m to join you in the new ‘creatives photography thread’
I think I'll go under a new guise on the new forum...I'm sick of masjer.

My final love letter to the dying forum, symbolising new life, change and hope or some bollox like that.😉
See you on the other side.

A good swansong, @masjer-WoW. I'm not going to append any of my tat. Tattidom now over on CC.

A couple to say farewell. One from quite a few weeks ago, and one from today.

Some great photography on here guys. I've loved flicking through the pages. We'll keep it up over on CC. Take care and stay upright if I don't 'see' you there.
