I think the two walkers in primary colours make that.

Maybe my new theme, people in the landscape. Adds scale and more context. Cheers!

Eclectic walkabout.
Wall's wall

The only colour I found today...
God, what a miserable day!

I should’ve put my Wall’s ice cream in with this one although it was only 3C.
Might try using my 2X teleconverter next time, which would give me up to 600mm of reach to where the big boys were. More reach but less light, so a compromise.

A lull before the storm.

Not getting much inspiration at the moment, but at least it wasn't grey again.

Enormous waves out there today. The spray/haze and changeable conditions made it tricky, but a spectacle to witness.

Not sure which I prefer... quite like the effect of the fill-in flash in the first one, but the dark outline in the second. Neither's great, but it's quite interesting playing with different effects even in meh compositions.

No2 for me. It has an arty glow.
I never knew Devon had an active volcano.

Maybe not active, but Exeter is built on one, hence the 'Exeter Volcanic Series' of rock, which is the most amazing building material which the weather doesn't really erode, almost as sharply cut as it was when new in churches 600 years ago. Not sure why it wasn't more widely used... maybe hard to work well. The volcano at Posbury Clump was up for sale several years ago... almost tempting to own a volcano.

I was questioning my own edits on those wave shots. They were taken at a distance so the haze was picking up colour. My thinking, adjust the colour temp (more blue) less saturation and more dehaze.
Dehaze works well, but I feel it can take away some of the atmosphere.
I’ve edited them in Flickr so they’ll disappear on here, so thought I'd re-post in new edit+ 1 other.
I think that's better.
2 -
I find that only way I can decide is by flicking between the various edits, and then I sometimes wonder if I've just picked the one that is 'most pleasing' rather than the one that is closest to what I thought I saw.
Certainly impressive shots, whatever.

Re volcanic stone... just look at that 600-year-old moulding!

Not quite muddy and cold enough for the winter cattle scene I'd pre-visualised, but after today's torrent they'll be knee deep.

All weathers today, except snow. A friend's down in Sennen, and been having fun watching (and photographing) crazy wave action as it crashes onto the rocks. Much more sedate in Topsham.

Last light during a 10 minute cap in the rain. A bit experimental handheld long exposures (with ibis off). This one was 1", but I tried a variety from 0.8"-2.5".
long exposure abstract flock of birds.

Like the blurry birds 👍🏻

Cheers. It’s good to try out different stuff. I think a faster shutter speed (0.5”) might’ve been ideal, leaving some bird shapes slightly more defined.

Midweek break arrival tat. Shame I didn't have my camera on me as the light was excellent.
Side note - The accommodation "sea view" is of the Fawlty Towers variety 😂. But I knew that from the photos.

Expect to see 'herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain'.😉

A small collection from yesterday. Please excuse the volume but it makes up for the weeks without posting anything. 😉
Breakthrough, Sunshine, Spotlight, Lost, Dusk, Long After Sunset.

One of those days when I've got up, had breakfast, done sunrise photography, back for coffee and biscuits and my wife is still in bed. 😂

"Streets full of water. Please advise."
Not Venice though.
Quite like the shape of the bow wave perfectly catching my rippled reflection in the first one and the general reflection in the second one.

Abstract birds - a lucky encounter with a huge flock and a beach waterfall.
And some tree shapes

Just for a change, the autofocus did just what I wanted it to for this angle on a crocus:
