Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

I watched one car do that when the bus in front of him had already gone through.
Yes, you could actually get a bus through there. 😂

I admire the relentless optimism it must take as a cyclist to think that people who drive for a living will be good at it.

Its surprising (or maybe not) how many people are hopeless at judging the width of the car they are driving.
0 -
I’d rather they err on the side of caution to be honest.
0 -
Quite. You are also relying on the oncoming car to stay over on their side

Equally annoying when they are virtually in the middle of the road so as to be nowhere near the hedge, then gesticulate wildly at you when you know the width of your own car and don't slow down to pass through the gap, missing their wing mirror by several inches. Also satisfying.

Minor irritating rather than annoying, people who can't turn left or right without swinging in the opposite direction first.

Been watching too much rallying and trying Scandi flicks?
(No, not that kind of flick. 😉😂)

I have a left turning on the way to work that is about 135⁰ and steep on the inside so I always pull out right before it so I can keep up speed (20mph) and stay in 2nd gear.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Have you considered slowing down, using first gear and not drifting right?

Nope.

You and everyone else then, in that case.

That's the right answer PN. Take the racing line, maintain momentum and reduce the risk of being rear ended by someone driving behind you who isn't expecting you to drive like a granny.

In fairness I suppose most of us do this when on a bicycle.
I don't have as much of an issue with the racing like as I do with people failing to use their mirrors first.

On driving irritations, people who swing around people who are in the process of turning left, into the incoming lane.
And people who squeeze far left while waiting behind someone turning right, as though somehow they can squeeze through the 3 ft gap between that car and the kerb.

I had it tonight, guy pulled far left behind parked car to let oncoming traffic through,I thought sod this and went round him and through with both cars able to pass each other,he looked at me and threw his hands up as I went past🤣🤣...I drive and 05 xtrail so not exactly small.

Flu and not having had the flu jab this year. I hadn't considered that the kids could be vaccinated flu bombs.
0 -
Bad luck. Having seen how much is around this year, and having had it once (34 years ago), I'm glad I took up the offer of a jab paid for by my employer this year.

Oh no! Having flu sucks at Christmas! I had it one year when the kids were very little. I spent all morning cooking the food. Couldn't stand eating any of it. Had a piece of toast and marmite and went to bed.
Been actively avoiding people at the moment. Until tomorrow. Apparently they are all not ill. Glad I always have a flu and covid jab.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

I am now finally over the fever and muscle aches, so just a lingering cough and tiredness that will probably still be with me tomorrow. No real plans for tomorrow though, so not a major disaster.
I am very jealous of people who get to recover in bed all day though.

Forgetting to put any pigs-in-blankets with the microwaved second sitting of the turkey roast. Obviously losing the plot.
Still, they'll just last a day longer, which cheers me up.

Bacon (pigs in blankets) in a microwave? Heresy!

Those plug in transformers/adapters where the wire comes put the top instead of the bottom like every other plug in existence. Why?! Just Why?
PITA. You can't manage cables neatly with them.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

They are all cooked, the proper way already (and not overcooked, as I have been known to do in the past). So they just need a gentle zap, not a vet. Have to say that French chipolatas and smoked streaky poitrine was a winning combination.

Still moist and not at all crispy. Just wrong. Just my opinion.

I'm not a crispy bacon lover, so there's that. Each to his own.

Aside from not being able to multiply by 2, that does illustrate that passport control is the bottle neck. One Eurostar can carry 750 passengers, so that's not even three trains an hour at present. For comparison, the Elizabeth Line can carry 36,000 passengers an hour albeit a lot are standing.

What was the capacity before Brexit. If it was the same, it would suggest that something other than passport control is the issue.
0 -
IIRC, they reduced capacity directly because of the extra processing time per passenger as a result of Brexit.
