Musky

That's balance of payments going back in the direction of the US rather than the other way. Rockets now owned and made in the US rather than importing them from Russia. Damn, we need people like this in our Country so we have the budget to build new school, repair the roads, improve the NHS...

I'm guessing that Musk is giving up on advertising on Twitter, and is now getting premium users to circle-jerk each other for income. I suspect it's going to turn into Truth Social II, populated mostly by MAGA.

It's going to be interesting to see how quickly We Robot evolves, especially given the advances already made by Tesla's automous cars. The body and the brain, intelligent matter.
How long before robots have rights?

It's going to be a great addition to peoples safety with the introduction of StarLink direct to cell. Contact pretty much anywhere on Earth.

Except the parts of the Earth under a tree. Or in buildings. Or underground.

I think I'm pretty much done with Twitter & Musky. With the 'starter packs' people haver assembled on BlueSky, I've quickly got back a similar assemblage of news reporting I had on Twitter, but without all the bots & paid-for blue-check Trumpists. Yeehaw.
I suspect that Twitter and Truth Social will merge fairly soon (unless Trump & Musk's narcissistic egos fall out first).

Yeah, there's been a pretty significant move across there in the last week. It feels like a tipping point.

That's my impression too, from my liberal bubble. But at last BlueSky seems to be a more than acceptable alternative. I think the real biggie now is for government agencies (including travel updates, emergencies etc) to jump ship from Twitter (its outright politicisation should be enough of a prompt), which would signal the death of Twitter as the go-to breaking news source.

World Bollard Association is on bluesky.

On the other hand, all those delusionals who were constantly convinced that the law was going to catch up with Trump are there, still selling the same nonsense.

That's true, but even it's nearly as mad but without the bile/hatred and prioritising of the BCTs (blue-check trolls), it's useful.
One or two interesting thoughts in this thread:

Being able to subscribe to a block list is great.

Yep, that and the starter packs are very positive, though I'll wait to use any block lists to see if it's necessary.

And hurrah, you can link photos directly from Bluesky... just right click on the photo > open in new tab, then copy & paste the hyperlink into the 'insert media' option here.

Going to have to keep both going as several people I follow are only on Twitter.

I think I'm going to avoid it for a few days, and if I don't miss anything in particular, will delete my account. Would actually like to see it crash and burn now.

Maybe worth prodding them to migrate, if they want to keep their followers.

The good bits are still there. They are just getting more and more obscured by American political accounts hurling abuse at each other and endless Temu adverts.

They've already stated they're not moving and I don't think my views carry any weight.

Meh. I've still got an active AOL mail account. Doesn't mean that I've not moved on. Times change.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0
