Online recipes that don't have the ingredients as the first thing. I don't want to read/scroll through a load of spiel about what inspired you or it reminds you of, I just want to make the dish.

I might have mentioned it before, but ANY recipe which specifies caster sugar only to dissolve it. Thanks, saved 5 seconds.

I followed one for chilli jam the other day. This wanted caster demerara sugar. Pointless.

Would it not be possible for the Conservative party to nominate 2 former PMs to attend state events rather than the bus load that were at the cenotaph on Sunday. Surely that would save time and money? (Obviously neither should be Truss)

People banging on about neurodiversity, defining it in such a way as to encompass a majority of the population, but wanting special treatment and understanding.

  • Canโ€™t comment, Iโ€™m in the minority.

    Bloody hell.

You watch Star Wars for a bit of escapism and they turn into a parody of British infrastructure projects.

Surprised they didn't call it Andor: HS2.

  • Another grocery shopping one. ๐Ÿคฌ

People who use those metro/express type supermarkets to do 'big' shops.

If your list fills more than a basket; just go to the main one, and help the others (who popped in for some milk/bread etc) out.

The solipsism of some people amazes* me.

    *I mean annoys. Obviously.

I don't think you understand that with this 15-minute-cities thing, they aren't allowed to go that far.

Well, I do read the Telegraph*

*mostly for amusement, though occasionally it does get stuff right...

"Devon didnโ€™t just top our rankings โ€“ it blew away the competition, with 61 points separating it from second-placed Cumbria. In a nip-and-tuck competition, this represented a chasm.

Simply put, it has everything. Two national parks and five National Landscapes (worth a total of 110 points), 14 Blue Flag beaches (50 points) along its 495kms of coast (46 points โ€“ second only to Cornwall). Nine RSPB reserves (45 points), an RHS garden (20 points), and vast tracts of woodland (9.9 per cent of Devon is tree-covered, according to the Ordnance Survey, a fact worth 38 points). Thatโ€™s the natural wonders covered.

As for history and culture, thereโ€™s 177 museums and galleries (47 points), 34 National Trust listings (47 points), 13 English Heritage properties (38 points), and โ€“ in Exeter โ€“ a cathedral (20 points) and Premiership Rugby to enjoy (20 points).

After a day of hiking and sightseeing, youโ€™ll need a decent supper and somewhere nice to lay your weary head, and Devon provides, with five Michelin-starred restaurants (30 points), one of the 50 best hotels on Earth, according to Telegraph Travel (Hotel Endsleigh in Tavistock), and a couple more with 5 AA Red Stars (Gidleigh Park in Chagford and Bovey Castle in Moretonhampstead).

Itโ€™s not without its faults, of course โ€“ parts of it are becoming overwhelmed by tourism โ€“ but itโ€™s the English county that comes closest to perfection. You canโ€™t argue with science."

What really annoys me in supermarkets are people that go in and DON'T take a basket with them and then proceed to precariously stack and balance far too many things in their arms. FFS, just get a basket you cretins.

I've been very accommodating in the face of some proper leftiebollox over the last 15 years ๐Ÿ˜‡

TBF I live near a 15 minute town as I can get anywhere in Sevenoaks in my car in less than 15 minutes ๐Ÿ˜€ So I'm not against the concept if done properly.

Perfect illustration of what makes me laugh about 15 minute cities as a concept.

People used to moan about the demise of local shops and town centres in favour of our of town shopping centres. It was suggested that everything should be available within a 15 minute walk or cycle for the majority of people, seems reasonable to me.

But for some reason it becomes a major issue because 'woke' or something. Utterly ridiculous. Some idiot keeps banging on about it on local groups near me, apparently it's being forced on us, what she obviously doesn't realise is Kingston has been a 15 minute city for a damned sight longer than she's been alive.

Don't mind the concept but being told that you can't just drive from A to B but need to a long way round go via C, D and E to avoid being fined is just daft.

If people who can't imagine getting anywhere without driving won't alter their habits despite all the efforts to make things easier for them to do so, then the stick takes over from the carrot.

We have a lot of 20mph zones around here. On the hill to work we have an illuminated 20 warning sign that also says Slow Down. Even when I'm doing 19, 18, 17, 16 or 15 mph the sign still flashes me. Gets my f'king goat that does! Don't warn me about something I'm not doing!

The British refusal to distinguish between a canoe and a kayak. And indeed to safely guess "that is a nice kayak" when asking what sort of boat that is.

Rowing boats are at least 8 m long, go backwards and prop up the Team GB medal table. "Kayak" is a stupid guess and I'm just being polite. What I want to do, really, is tell you it is a racing paddle board and watch your brain work in real time.

Canoes are not kayaks either. Also about as stupid as mistaking a motorbike for a car.

TBF I thought the difference was the paddle with a Canoe using a single paddle and a Kayak using a double ended one? Watching the Olympic Slalom earlier this year seemed to reinforce my conviction.

Currently imagining FA's quiet fury as someone mis-genders his rowboat.
