    Kopecky best race head

Vollering looks good but is going to get herself mugged. Kopecky seems to have recovered and Lippert had been playing her cards well but she looks to be starting to suffer now

All that strength in depth and the Dutch don’t even get a medal. Complete fuck up. Unlike most on here I like Vollering but that was funny.

    Great race.

Good sprint from Dygert for second

Vos towing Kopecky back when she looked out of it isn’t looking smart. The Dutch tactics would even confuse Movistar. Puck takes the U23 I think to salvage something.

    Yes.

Vos would've challenged Kopecky in a sprint, so you would've thought the best Dutch tactic was to keep it together after Vos and Kopecky got back on. But Vollering had other ideas.

Felt like everyone was racing as if they were riding for trade teams rather than national teams (with the exception of Markus who did all she could).

Longo-Borghini has a habit of coming third in the big events

It was at this point I thought Vollering had to go straight past and either go solo or take Longo-B with her.

Didn't quite have the gap. LK cleverly let the German rider close the first bit and then had enough to do the rest.

I thought she still had a small gap and Kopecky seemed to be struggling to get to her wheel - she may not have had anything left but it appeared to me if she could have put in one push Kopecky couldn't have responded.

Riders already getting dropped with some early attacks involving several bigger nations rather than the usual canon fodder.

    Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo! We want rain! 🇩🇰

Viking-watch: Skjelmose apparently put his back out this morning. They're still riding for him as captain, but will see how he goes and may well switch to a plan B
