Fwiw (nothing) a pollster that gives flattering reports to their owner is not going to be employed for very long, so I think the idea that because Thiel is an investor it must favour Republicans is bollox. On the other hand, not constantly reviewing and updating your methodology would be equally useless to your clients. The only test is accuracy of prediction; we'll have to wait until later in the year to know whether the tweaks have improved or reduced accuracy.

I'd like to think that someday the US will be able to look back at this era when the vast majority of the country wanted stricter gun laws but only got 'thoughts and prayers' while schoolchildren were routinely murdered, and be baffled by how the gun lobby kept a stranglehold on the minds of a significant-enough proportion of the population and body politic to stop even the most basic tightening of gun controls. I'm not hopeful though.
