Didn't really expect to find a discussion of stabilisers to be top trending on CS having been out for three hours eating a delicious piece of dead cow (with a rather good 2018 St Emilion) with friends.

My grandson never really got to grips with a balance bike, they weren’t around when my daughter was learning. He just was content to ride it with stabilisers. He then asked for them to be taken off, tried it without, wasn’t keen. Then left for a month, got on it and off he went.
As soon as he’d done a few times up and down the street it was “ Mum can we go to Dalby Forrest “😀

Don't get me wrong, I like it. Just didn't imagine my 56-year-old memory of stabilisers would provoke so many comments.

I hope parents are still lying to their kids and promising they are still holding them as they ride away unsupported

IGot a vivid memory of my 3yo (now mid 20s) waking up the French campsite every morning at 6am by cycling on the crunchy gravel with stabilisers. I had to resort to locking the bike at night to stop him. Shortly after he wanted the stabilisers off to copy big sister and got the hang of it straight away.
