Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

EDIT: Honestly, I was just checking if you can post a blank post... it wasn't a twitchy finger, honest.
Anyway, seems you can.

Ha quite the adventure this. Currently touring in a lorry with the hire car on the back trying to find a garage that is open.

Similar adventure for me...riding in my girlfriends VW camper van down stelvio pass...
Only the camper van was on top of a recovery vehicle, the doubling up of the suspension, plus the ride height made for quite an exciting journey.
The thin air at the top of the pass was trivially annoying.

How universally accepted is what three words? I know emergency services in the UK use it, but not sure about hire cars in foreign lands.

No spare in the cat?

You have a cat that carries a spare tyre?

COVID. It's really not trivial when you are so ill for days

This thread was practically created to cover the joy of flying, so I'll limit myself to just one.
Heathrow has lifts to go between the various levels. It proudly boasts that these are much quicker than the escalators and asks everyone to use them; however, why can't they introduce a queuing system and have all the lifts working on an automated cycled? As it is, it's just an unsavoury scrum with everyone waiting and then running for the first doors to open.

Totally trivial annoyance... not being able to do the re--varnishing of my door before I went out this morning when it was cool enough (<30C), because it might stick shut, and not being able to do it till late in the evening (9pm-ish) because it's too hot. And then I want to lock the door so I can go to bed early, so I can get up early to get out before it gets too hot.
Just thinking that maybe I should have done the job at Easter....

The PM function on this forum is unsurprisingly worse than before.

Do you have any coffee shop recommendations for business meetings in Soho?

I tend to go for the Notes chain, because they do full table service.
Coffee is fine, not soho fancy.
There is one near soho by Trafalgar Square

The BBC.
% of my Teams or Zoom calls which fail - about 2%
% of my telephone calls that fail - about 2%
% of BBC interviews that end half way through because the call suddenly drops out - about 20%.

Thanks. I'll give it a go.

It's not until September! I just needed to add something to the invitation, but be reassured, I will report back.

You will probably dismiss this, but try disconnecting for a while. Ignorance is bliss, or gives less to worry about at least.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
I would suggest stop thinking about politics so much. Especially these days.

I have no idea what to suggest but hope it is resolved quickly.

GCSE results day.
A levels results day.
Exams ARE fair, and being assessed by your teachers isn't. Get over it.

Fair is a pretty nebulous and subjective concept.

You might not like what they test for,.but they are anonymous and therefore generally unbiased. Some people do better than others. That's life.
If we learned one thing from COVID, it was that teachers pushed grades up massively. I'm sure that was not done completely objectively and fairly.
