I still don't think the bunny hop is getting enough recognition.

Pascal Ackermann was happy with his leadout

I did a bunny hop like that to avoid a crash once. I cleared the rider in front of me but unfortunately landed on the bike of the rider in front of him.

I thought I’d watch the stage after the kids were in bed - but got inundated with texts. None of them were spoilers; they were all along lines of “did you fucking see that!?” or, “how’s the heart rate?”… needless to say, the kids are only just in bed now. There’s a lot of dust and onions in the air here, too…

His win ratio is pretty incredible too, he’s won 35 stages from 212 he’s finished so pretty much 1 in 6. Only ever finished 2nd or 3rd on 10 occasions.

In the latest edition of people are weird I’ve seen loads of people complaining about spoilers in cycling related social media accounts. Surely if you follow cycling accounts on the likes of Instagram and don’t want to know the results you just don’t open Instagram until you’ve watched.

Yeah, I saw somebody kick off at David Millar for "not knowing how news embargos work", and I was thinking there's only one person in that particular situation who doesn't understand that there's hardly likely to be an embargo on news from a major sporting event that's broadcast live as it happens. Utterly bizarre behaviour.

Of all the stages to have missed

Of all the stages to have then be spoilt by the duck n Eurosport "final Kms" clip

    I am heartbroken 💔 😭

Will he ride all the way to Nice? I would have thought so, if he can make the time cuts.

In my defence - it was YouTUbe and the title of the clip is....

I mean...whats the point in watching the clip, that's just bad marketing!

I am with you. I think if you are complaining about that you are just an attention seeker

I was referring to people who follow things like Eurosport or pro cycling teams on Instagram or Facebook and expecting them not to mention the biggest story in the sport today until everyone had a chance to watch the highlights. It was even second headline on BBC news this evening (no football today and Andy Murray wasn’t playing at Wimbledon). I think the first one I saw was a response to the Ineos post on Instagram.

I agree putting details and a picture of the winner in the headline of a highlights package is stupid and also referencing it in a thread on Cake Stop was a bit out of order but in general if you don’t want to hear the result of a major sporting event the best thing is to avoid social media until you’re ready.

Guilty as charged. I put something in a whatsApp group. Someone was not pleased. I am totally ashamed of my behaviour.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Can see the gripe with highlights packages, but general social media? Naah, it's your job to avoid it if it matters.

Off the top of my head, Cavendish's top five Tour stage wins (in no particular order)

2011 stage 5: A tough finish where Phil Gilbert finished second

2009 stage 19: This was the profile

2009: Stage 21 - he won so easily in Paris that Renshaw came second

2010 Stage 18: Renshaw had been DQed for headbutting Julian Dean. People said he couldn't do it without his team. He won by so much he turned around at the finish to look at the others.

2012 Stage 18: It looked like the break with Roche and Sanchez would make it. But he chased them down. Sanchez sat up when he passed not realising he would have easily got second, so far ahead Cav was.

That Aubenas one is mad. Wasnt it between the TT and Ventoux. I think the stage before the TT was pretty brutal as well.

Yeah that is easily his best Tour stage win. Remarkable.

I dunno, Stage 18 2012 is still my favourite, just for Sanchez's face

What’s the latest from the Danish media regarding Mads Pedersen’s injuries?

Do we know if he’s taking the start, today?

Yeah our club WhatsApp has been very clear no spoilers... but then we had people complaining about the BBC breaking news alerts etc.

2012 stage 18 was such a frantic dust up . It was my fave

Aubenas was remarkable.... I still have the image of cav off the back in a super tight huddle of HTC riders carrying him up the climb .... Amazing the team thought it was possible tbh never mind the fact he pulled it off

Wouldn't dispute that list in terms of most impressive riding to achieve it, but the Paris win in 2012 with Sir Brad in yellow leading Cav out is the most iconic.

I think my favourite moment in the sprint was when Bauhaus tried to take the wheel Cav was on (Jakobsen?) and Cav just stood his ground and bumped him off.

Jarrad Drizners from Lotto Dstny and Ballerini from Astana were fined for poor behaviour at the finish line yesterday. They'd done their bits in their trains and stopped at 3km to watch the finish on the big screen 😅

I reckon Ballerini will be happier with his choice, but the commies are reaching badly with this one
