Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Probably it's that the rules are daily easy to follow, you can see the ball most of the time, that sort of thing. It's very accessible.
Why does one's own personal aptitude have anything to do with it?

Ironically he posts in the PT thread more than anyone.

Only that it amuses me how many people think they can do a better job than the pros. We've seen the same sort of thing on here in areas like virology and public health, fighting wars and running a country.

Guilty as charged on all counts!

Not having a dig at you to be fair. Although as this amuses me, it's probably in the wrong thread...

When you make another appointment for your daughter at the dentist because they have cancelled for no reason, then you go 2 days later for your appointment only to find they cancelled again but hadn't told you. Apparently the dentist was not avialable today. So why FFS make the appointment when you probably knew he wouldn't be in..

New research commissioned by Material Focus, has identified that 1.3 million single-use vapes are thrown away every week, per annum this is enough to cover 22 football pitches. The number of vapes thrown away are contributing to the fastest growing waste stream in the UK with over 155,000 tonnes of electrical waste thrown away every year and 527 million electrical items hoarded in UK homes.
Absolute utter madness. It must be one of the worst inventions to disgrace the planet. A box of cigarettes at fifteen quid should be enough to make any sane person quit.

Didn't realise we were expecting showers today in Hampshire, hopefully clears up and roads dry up for a ride during Ingerland's game that starts at 1700.

People that say "reaching out" or "I've reached out to them"
No you haven't. You've just f'king asked them a question.
Retch!

It was a favourite of Project Managers a few years ago "can you reach out to the Planning Officer to get a decision?" etc. I think it took over from the equally annoying "let's touch base".

Sounds a bit too handsy for a modern working environment.

100% guilty of this.
used in the context of “I have tried to get hold of/speak with”
eg “so far I’ve reached out to around 40 people for this role”

Edinburgh refuse collectors are going on strike for the second time in three years in August, this time because some.of them are earning less than the median wage.
And to think of all of that training and qualifications they needed to get.

They no longer just pick it up as they go along you know.

It is a relatively hard, but essentially completely unskilled, job. It's harsh, but someone has to earn slightly below median, unless you do Govian mathematics.

Is it even that physical anymore? My 85 year old neighbour takes her bin 25m down the drive to the kerb, the bin men take it the remaining few metres to the truck and the truck picks it up. OK, they have to do that a lot of times but still

Sometimes they have to run along in front to line them up.

Disappointed that one of the first jokes I learned in primary school seems to have gone over people's heads.

I feel like a fucking idiot now.

Anyway, that doesn't annoy me. It's the fact they keep timing strikes for the Edinburgh Festival, as much as anything else.
I'm there for a week, but the rubbish piles should still be quite small at that point.

Will anyone notice?

Personally I thought it was a load of rubbish.

Thats what comes of slipping in a throw away line.

It gave me the urge to take a dump.
