Sounds like a win / win. The oldies don't get an appointment and pop their clogs sooner to stop being a drain on working folk, a positively Chasian policy.

That is weird.
I just meant you could avoid people hanging on the phone at 8am if you put all the appointments online at 7am. Sure dome people without smart phones might die, but that's unavoidable.
I'll say that I have never failed to get a same day appointment as long as I logon by about 7:15.

Our online prescription ordering jobbie still works after hours. Obviously nothing happens to the request till the next day the dispensary opens and then they say it can take a couple of days.
Wish they'd do an online appointment request form...

The NHS App enables you to order repeat presriptions and book appointments . . . (no more guarantee of a "slot" though)

This feels a lot like "these things work when they're run properly" as for the surgery here in Cambridge where they have put this in, it's a disaster.
FWIW the private healthcare i have does video GP appointments - not same day but usually the day after.
Certainly more reliable and if it's the kind of thing that needs a specialist it runs much more smoothly for obvious reasons.

It feels like a "bold" move to invite Martin Lewis to call you liars.

I'm starting to wonder if they are capable of not lying at this stage.

I've tried the app again this morning for an appointment. Tried at 9.00am (I forgot to do it at 8.00) and it was showing no appointments available. Not sure if I was too late or it simply doesn't work - NHS Wales has its own app although it links to the main NHS system.

I need to check my private healthcare.

Either their social media team is on drugs, or their mental age is 12. Maybe both.

I think they got used to heavily bending the truth and it being generally accepted it was just heavily spun.
The difference now is everyone's pissed off with them and all the scandals, starting with ( but not finishing with) partygate has eroded the to patience people have for the spin.
Ultimately journalists are people too and they see, just like we all do, everything getting a bit shitter, so their "it's actually pretty good" chat grates much more than it used to.

"I can't meet you then, Rick, I planned to vote in the morning to get the bastards out" says City analyst on half a mill who is married to a City trader who is on well over 1.5 mill.
Amazing how far the Tories have gone.

This seems more likely for my constituency than the previous one that suggested RUK, though the redrawing of boundaries, the not-standing independent Claire Wright who almost nabbed East Devon from the Tories and seismic shift in sentiment, make it very interesting. I really hope it's clear enough come the day who people should vote for to #gtto. But I think there are enough urban voters in both Exeter (including Topsham) and Exmouth who are more likely to veer to Labour to make this the more likely one.

In the interests of balance, this is also terrible

Not cool. Just irritating.

Ya, ya, totally.

I noticed the car was driving on the right, is that a sign that Labour are trying to move into Tory territory?

I suppose the danger is those who currently plan to vote Reform see these polls and decide to go back to the Tories.

You can now buy milk that will last longer than the Tories (shamlessly stolen from Facebook).

I think most constituencies will have fewer variables and unknowns than mine. I just hope that E&ED doesn't end up with RUK or Tory because of the uncertainties between all the various #gtto parties. Though obviously RUK would be the worst outcome on a constituency level, even if it did help thrash Tories even more on the national level. The tactical voting sites I've seen have Labour as the best #gtto vote.

Won't be long before CCHQ puts out a Tweet claiming that Labour is going to force us to drive on the right.

Did he tell you who he was voting for?

Labour canvasser came round this evening. Apparently Labour will reduce my energy costs: that was his selling point. I complimented him on the fact that at least he was making an effort round here.

Our local Tory candidate is banging on about how she will sort out crime.
Apparently crime in surrey has nothing to do with the 14 years of Conservative government, many decades of Conservative local mps or 8 years of Conservative pccs. Its all caused by 'left wing cities' exporting crime to us, not sure how she's going to solve it then 🤷♂️

I think Kathy Burke has the correct response. (See the replies to the tweet)
