Seemingly trivial things that intrigue you

No mention, so I'm going to guess self induced.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

judging by the spectacular bruising he must've hit the ground like a fridge.
I think if anyone else was to blame he'd have been blaming them...

Yeah it's a really weird video that one. I was thinking the same. Only thing that I can think of causing that kind of brusing is being hit by something - can't imagine hitting the floor getting that kind of bruise> I've seen quite a few falling-off-bike related injuries on myself and watching pro-cycling a lot.

One thing that has intrigued me; I used to get *a lot* of scam calls from India - easily 10-15 a week. Mixture of pretending to be O2, Carphone Warehouse, Aviva Insurance, HMRC, etc etc.
The number has really gone down recently to maybe one a month.
I wonder what's happened.

Being hit by something, or hitting something (like cycling into a parked car)

Maybe he ran into his ego.😉

Yeah - it's on his side though. I dunno, speculation isn't helpful.
Then again, his post isn't especially helpful either.
Cycling has an image problem in the UK and that stuff makes it worse.

You've just forwarded them all to me!
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

If you want to wind them up, the most effective way to get them to start swearing is if you start telling them to get a proper job. Got called a "f*cking f*ck bastard" last time lol.

A lot of my recent ones are recorded messages in bad Chinglish telling me my phone will be disconnected unless I press 1 to contact the operator. I've stopped answering numbers not in my address book. If its Kosher they will usually leave a message.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

I used to think that, but I've started to feel a bit more pity for the actual individuals calling. Also, it takes longer than hanging up.

Same here, ignore then look up the number on Google then add to my blocked list. A couple of weeks ago I was having several and everytime I checked on Google they seemed to be registered to some dodgy takeaway or restaurant. I assume it is some cloning software that just goes through the Internet hoovering up legitimate numbers and takeaways are quite prominent.

Who is it that you think you will be talking to?

I just lay the phone down and walk away, leaving them literally hanging.

Telephonic communication has moved on from the days when both people needed to hang up.
The criminal mastermind is not the one calling you. The person calling you literally has no options that are better.

Who is they?

The people calling me.
You gonna start feeling sorry for dope slingers because they lack opportunities too?

You aren't being called by those people. You are being called by people who probably found out what the job was that morning and who are reading a script, like any other call centre worker.

Well, I felt sorry for Wallace in The Wire. You'd have to be a heartless bastard not to.
0 -
I do. Not all of them, but it's important to remember that everyone doesn't grow up with the same privileges.
0 -
lol do you even speak to these people? Of course they know.
I upset one so much they bombarded me with calls for the next 2 hours. They know exactly what they’re doing.
I occasionally go down the scam caller revenge YouTube videos - one guy managed to hack into their whole building and worked out who they all were, by name, and watched them all on the building CCTV.
Theyre run just like businesses. They are not under duress. It’s just a call centre with “sales” targets.

And just like businesses, not many of the staff make money.
But hey, you know best. Have a good shout.
0 -
Nah shouting doesn’t upset the thieves.
You’ve got to really get under their skin. The person who shouts loses. The trick is to get them shouting.
A politician who got a JV with Indian authorities which successfully cracked down on this would get so many votes. Blight on modern society.

How TF, with two small children, and trying to run a business, do you have time to engage even legitimate call centre staff?

I run all the household accounts. Insurance, tv, etc.
Plus the school always calls from random mobile numbers so you gotta take the call.
