Any cricket lovers on here?

The main reason I actually like T20 is that upsets (for want of a better word) are more likely. The short format means a single moment of genius/madness has a greater impact than in any of the other formats.
In ODI's /Tests you'd generally expect the main nations to win 90%+ of the time. In T20's it's much closer though. If DLS gets involved? It's a crapshoot. Make your bet and roll the dice

I thought Nepal looked to be going well when I checked my phone in the night, shame they lost. Sounds like a very close one, SA defended 7 off the last over.

Especially when you throw in some of these unpredictable surfaces - think low totals and difficult pitches are more conducive to upsets...

It's bloody raining. 😫
Inspection at 7pm

Next inspection 8pm. Rain radar has it largely clear after now. Latest they can be on for a 5 over game is 21:45ish.

Starting to think having a world cup in rainy season was a bad idea... there's been at least two washouts in Florida as well.
Assuming Scotland lose against Australia, we will have a situation where England and Scotland have identical results except Scotland played one more game than England.
If the Scotland-Australia result is worse than the England-Australia result, then we'll be in a situation where both games that both sides actually played, England had a better result.

we may get some cricket. Play due at 9pm for a 11 overs per side.
Although its raining again.....

Light drizzle though apparently.
I assume you are reading the same BBC feed that I am though :D

Weird choice to bring in Curran and Jordan for Wood and Jacks. Although I suppose if it's only 11 overs you can bowl every over like a death over.

Oh dear

Pitch looks tricky.
Come on YJB, you owe us

Need at least 90+ I think. Hopefully Topley and Archer will be too quick for them.
And as I type it's raining again.........

Raining again, looks pretty clear though. I think they can defend ten an over though.

Back out. down to 10 overs per side

I guess they dont DLS in this case?
But I don't see them chasing over 12 an over. Kind of puts rest to this idea that England couldn't have chased 11 an over for 10 overs as well...

122-5. Just waiting on DLS adjustment

Ah so there will be a DLS adjustment? That just takes it further away IMO.

TMS saying they need 127 to win, BBC website saying 126 either way I think its too many.
I hope its too many :)

Confirmed as needing 127

Apparently it has happened before but I've never seen this on a non-friendly game:
Davin retired out
Basically "get off you're scoring too slowly" Probably a couple of overs late

Comfortable win in the end.
Down to Scotland vs Australia. If the Scots manage to beat the Aussies then "well played lads you deserve it" I just hope it stays dry.
0 -
Yeah I mean if Scotland beat Australia they really do deserve to go through. I don't think they will though!
0 -
Never in doubt 😜
Scotland ran that much closer than it had any right to be. Great effort.
Sleep time...

Aussies win with 2 balls to spare. Got a lot closer to the Aussies than England did!
Perhaps the Scots should ditch football and concentrate properly on cricket and rugby....

I thought Ireland might actually beat Pakistan for a minute there. But they really needed a few more runs on the board - maybe 20 would have done it.
I see Australia are doing a 3 match series in Edinburgh before the England series in September - might try and go.

I worked out what Scotland would have needed to still go through on NRR while losing - they would have had to score 1009 chasing 1010...

I’d of stayed up to watch that!

Just finished listening to the game on 5live.
Better from England. Much, much better
