House image to complete the set! Bluebells just coming out.

That's not The View, not in this weather. Here's to the south in clearer times...
Is why I took on The W-i-P Project. 😊

Looking good for figs this year.

Millenials around here seem to favour astro turf, they just have to vacuum and brush it occasionally. 🤮

I'm sure something could be said about that, on the theme of fake, but this is the wrong thread.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
Aye, bought frae the Kirk.
Needed a bit of work though, church didn't like spending any money on it.

This is more what I had in mind. Some green stuff that needn't be grass, and some pleasant disorder.

I might start the Ban Astroturf Party ('BAP', obvs), as it's the work of the devil. At least grass perks up every spring, whereas Astroturf just looks more and more tired until it needs replacing with more oil-derived green plastic.

Also has absolutely zero wildlife value

If something isn't chaotic and messy left to its own devices, it's not worth bothering with. Grass and lawns are worth bothering with, whether you keep them trim & tidy, or let them do their own thing.
I really enjoy taming the mess of grass and random wild flowers of my French lawn at the end of May, then leaving it to do whatever it fancies once the autumn comes.

Sign me up BT, sick of the stuff. Spent the last 14yrs cleaning little black rubbery bits up when youngest got back from training on the bloody stuff. Using that scythe would be hard work, I'm assuming it's alcohol in the biden. Personally I'd pay some peasant or use a strimmer. When I finally get pictures to post on here I'll post a pic of my village cricket green sized lawn, aka long and narrow.

Yes hard work. Have since got a fab battery-powered rotary mower, but the scythe is still good for getting it down to a manageable level first, and for doing Poldark impersonations.

I assume there’ll be some shots of that in the calendar for your French fan club?

The photo of the scythe with the water bottle makes it look like DEATH has just dispatched a cyclist 😯

I'm struggling with the idea of The Grim Reaper being called Brian.

I should get some before & after photos over half term... looking forward to spending some time in the garde, as long as the weather down there perks up... it's been worse than Devon.

Got any pics yet Oxo? We've had all the Boomer entries and you're the last Gen X'er. Then we can move onto Millenial Gardens 🙂

I'll have a play and try and post pics again. After my booting off here by mistake it's mucked a few things up. Need to sort it to post some BS about the new Gravel bike.

No worries Oxo, if for some reason you can't do it, you could always email the pics to me and I'll post 'em.

Fig tree may be out of control.

Do they fully ripen?
0 -
Not as sweet as figs from the supermarket, but they're certainly edible. They only ripen if fertilised by a particular species of wasp - don't read up on it if you are squeamish 🙂
The figs are much more developed than last year. The wet winter has clearly helped.

Oxo,s cricket green sized garden complete with wildlife. Yes it's boring. Rest of garden is paved or slated with bedding plants for the mutt to water.
Finally got it sorted so I can post pics

Looks suitably mutt-proof.

Not according to the Dogs trust or RSPCA, Apparently it should have 6ft fences all around. One side is only 4ft, hence when we got the dog we had to go through specialist breed re-homing charity. There loss tbh, we ended up with a lovely dog.
