Maybe you could put out an offer that they can come and blow your trumpet if they introduce another follower?

I'd have to give them instruction which end to blow, the mouthpiece end or the bell end.

Start with the mouthpiece and then move on to the bell end?

Here too! (and swallows) Although I feel their numbers are fewer and fewer year on year

There are many dilapidated barns/out houses here so we are blessed with a good population of them.

From my home office, I look over the road on which I grew up. The summers skies were full of swallows that built their nests under the soffits of the houses on the road. Swallows always return to breed where they were born but over the years the wooden soffits have been replaced with upvc and I think this may be why they don't nest there any more . . . the one house on the road with the old wooden soffits always has them nesting there.

I can never remember the difference, so in our house they're always known as a SwiftSwallowMartin

The wine is nice, but a Colnago?! 👏👏👏😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
Listening to Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge, the radio comedy from 1992. Its so bloody damned funny. Also gave Clarkson his catchphrase "and on that bombshell.."
Found an online radio archive with lots of classic comedy mp3 files..
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Italian wine for an Italian bike, and yes, it's nice, even if the bracket for the gear cables on the downtube has been a nightmare (completely under-engineered for the stresses, hence the polymorph and cable ties).

Rummaging through the drawers looking for a USB stick to put my daughter's backing tracks on for a concert she's doing tonight in case she isn't able to play them from her phone and I found one only to realise it was actually my old Sony Walkman. If I can get it working as a player again it will be pretty good for using on runs or at the gym although I'll have to use wired headphones. The only issue is that I think you had to upload music to the stick through Sony's SonicStage software that has been discontinued - remember when everything used to be far more complicated than necessary with this stuff (Apple seem to still like making it difficult like that)? At least it will serve the purpose I originally needed it for though.

Can't be that old then? Sony Walkmen you had to 'load' your songs onto a tape!

Think it's from 2007 - the manual refers to IE version 5 and Windows 2000 / XP. I never had a cassette version, they were too expensive so I ended up with an own brand one from Dixons or Comet. You could listen to maybe one album before replacing the batteries if you were lucky.

Heard, via a recording on the guy's phone, he'd been up on t'uplands early doors for a black grouse watch, none seen or heard, an early morning cuckoo from last weekend. This is D&G.

A friend saw a barn owl in bushy park the other evening, might go for a walk that way tomorrow night

Having my daughter performing as the guest soloist with my choir tonight. She did a great job, probably the best I’ve heard her sing and first time she’s been paid to sing.

Just back from a run and had an owl fly across the road in front of me, try to take something in the opposite hedgerow and fly back again. Was slightly surprised to see on in broad daylight, I suspect it was a short-eared owl as apparently though are mainly nocturnal / crepuscular they are still quite active in daylight.
