Good win for Carr. I think he would have been caught but that crash just ended the chase behind.

O’Connor obviously not too badly hurt and attacks late on but gets pipped for second by Storer. JP Lopez retains the lead and had to fight for it.

A pretty, but mercifully, dull final stage in the Alpes today. With the possible exception of Wout Poel's failed attack the rider animating it most was the GC leader Lopez.

Paret-Peintre took the W in a front group sprint.

Lopez isn't a very aesthetic rider. Aurelien Parrot Pants took the win with his brother in third (sandwiching the cat killer).

Tour of Turkey decided to have a sprint finish with a bend 50m from the finish which is always interesting.

Van Poppel definitely drifted all the way across the road, but who knows what was straight.

It was a bit 50 50 ....I thought they would just leave him with the win

I thought it was a bit much, but mostly it was down to the road layout. Bit surprised he got relegated.

Why not... I think it's a good test for a different skill ability envelope not given it's due .... Not sure how we would be talking about this course if it was raining

Is there coverage with commentary? The only option coming up for me is ambient sound. Depending on who is commentating this could be a good thing.

That felt like everyone misjudged the sprint. Godon takes it with his leadout man Vendrame second for AG2R

Or Godon was leading out and Vendrame realised he didn't have to pass him.

He's 37. He turned pro in 2007. Not many left from then: Thomas, Cavendish, Cataldo, Pozzovivo and Gesink

The Sticky Bottle lot on Facebook are always on about how he never got a chance at GC when he was at Sky/Ineos. Perhaps that’s because he’s not got a hope in hell!

I think last year's Giro was the first time he got to ride a GT for himself: 7th isn't a bad showing is it?

He had a lot of injury problems at a bad time. He didn't ride in 2020 after Covid hit and less than 50 days in the next two seasons. I thought he was worth another go but Ineos would have more info.

Always felt he was more suited to hilly one day races and stages.

As far as I remember he was due to support Geraint Thomas in the 2020 Giro but broke his collarbone at the rearranged Tirreno Adriatico

Tobias Lund Anderson takes his second stage in the Tour of Turkey. Everyone somehow managed to stay upright despite a ridiculous funnel on the course with 500m to go that led to a fair bit of shoulder to shoulder bumps.
