Not really. I don't get the fixation on the boomers. If anything, they are the outliers. Also it misses that they had to grow up in post war or even wartime Britain, which wasn't a barrel of laughs.

Think you've got completely the wrong end of the stick. It's nothing to do with envy. The demographic shifts since its inception mean that the state pension has now ballooned to ~40% of all state benefits, beggaring every other part of welfare system. Never mind us folk funding it, why should pensioners be exempt from the benefit cuts that all other recipients have had?

So, managing numbers as I guessed earlier. Somebody's gotta do it (and get well paid) but I don't understand the enjoyment factor. Just as well everyone is different.

Never was a techy - managing is more where it's at for me and it puts you in control which makes a lot of difference. It's nice to be paid for stuff you like doing though, and not many hobbies do that 🙂
