Better frost this morning, a heron on my neighbours' roof, and an almost-passable sunset.

The latest shots (Pontypool Folly Tower) are much sharper/less noise, pross. I can't help getting a strong dose of pareidolia. It looks shocked😁
Like the heron^
Gutted to have missed seeing (and possibly photographing) a humpback whale in Fishguard harbour. It was performing the full works, breaching and swimming alongside the breakwater right next to onlookers, before heading out to sea.
I’ve seen humpbacks and southern right whales abroad, but a close encounter in a local harbour would’ve been something else!

I hadn’t noticed the shocked face look on the tower until someone commented on Instagram that even the tower looked shocked how cold it was. Now I can’t look at it without seeing the Man in the Iron Mask.
The light pollution meant I could drop the ISO and exposure length. The more close up one is also a blended shot with the foreground made up of several ‘light painted’ images that were done with the lens stopped down a few notches. I also checked my focus which I think I forgot to do with the church shots earlier in the week 🙄

Still impressed with how sharp the images are that Brian takes with the compact, especially when zoomed in so much.

It's a decent lens, image chip and image stabilisation, which is why I've replaced like-for-like when I've killed a camera or one's died, even if it's basic otherwise. Eventually the supply of decent second-hand ones is going to dry up and I'll be forced to play a lot more than £150 for a replacement by something more recent.

Going with the flow.

Of little artistic merit, but just to confirm I made it out and back this morning. Storm, pah, take that!!

More seaside tat. Only real point of interest is how hard it is to use the panorama mode when there's a sea horizon involved... would be good practice for a dead straight lateral movement. You'll see a little notch in the English Channel in my attempt, and I'm pretty sure that it wasn't there, whatever Manc33 says.

Do like #2 & #4.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Thanks, yes, they were the slightly artier ones. A little bit of photoshopping went on in #4... can you guess what?

Not really, no. Either subtle, or cloning something out.

The latter is correct. Some annoying people who appeared on the *public footpath* just as I was lining up the shot, how dare they. Subtle, but they spoilt the distant tunnel: not big enough to be interesting, but not small enough not to be noticed.

I thought you’d photoshopped the smiley face on the trunk to the right of your bike.
Seeing what Isha had left for me. Long lens today, as the waves were breaking far out. The larger waves were casting a shadow with the low sun behind them, causing the fronts to be in shade. I still ended up with a few I like, but as always, an offshore wind would’ve been ideal.

Nice waves all the same.
Yeah, was hoping for more wave action at Budleigh, but it was a /cross/diagonal wind and just messy.
Ha, hadn't spotted the smiley 🙂

Number one looks like they've just had a whale hunt.

The French find the colour most 'bizarre', but as you probably know, it's standard for here when it's choppy. The Exe at Lympstone was even better...

I'd not mormally post a photo of swans here, except when I looked though the ones I took en passant today, I realised I'd unintentionally got a rather nice effect between the two swans' heads, thanks to the reflection.

Never make out a photo like that is a fluke! You planned it and had the scene in your head then executed it at the perfect moment is, I think, what you meant to write!

'The Decisive Moment'

Well, actually the shot I was planning was with both heads pointing to the left, but the front one wasn't going to oblige.

'His & his' at this morning's cake stop, bells well polished and two selfies for the price of one.

Thought at first glance that was Milemuncher's bike with his multiple Garmins.

Misty beach shot earlier this week.

Ah childhood holidays in the UK.

Sunrise is worth grabbing a camera if anyone has a good background (which I don’t at the moment unfortunately).

No background, or worthy cloud cover. Back to breakfast... 😉

Possible background, no sun, blanket grey.👎️ Nice cuppa tea☕️

No sunrise here, but did get a shot of last night's rising moon, albeit with the limitations of a cheap camera.

Don't go on the moors at night. 😉
