I know that a precedent has been set and it sits outside of the rest of the nationals but it always seems to be a shame that this race sits in the s*** small races thread: it's not as if Greipel ever won it.

Narvaez won the pre tour down under crit from the break.
Uttrup Ludvig is leading the women's tour down under after the second of three stages.

Watched that on catch up after the cyclocross. Cecilie was well on form 👍

Sarah Gigante left them all on Willunga Hill to take the GC today.

Erm...

Surely every team sets out with the ambition of winning every race? Then reality hits ambition...
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
Very even sprint - Bora getting Wellsford on the last wheel before it launched proving decisive. Well, that combined with Ewan not having the legs.

Given his rather obvious fail today / yesterday / stage 1, is it see ya for Caleb? Given the big WT sprinter guns were not there...

.that plan got old quickly

Not a bad 2nd day at the World Tour office for Derek Torro. Thought it was Simmons' for the taking.

Good finish. Last 10km worth watching.

Nice to see Jayco AlUla's stated goal of winning all the stages is still going well.
Sam Welsford with a fairly comfortable sprint again with Viviani managing to pop up in 2nd and Dan McLay 3rd

Luke Plapp has a valid excuse.

Ouch. I knew he'd had, what looked like, most of the Astana team on top of him but didn't see the aftermath of the crash

A lesson to learn there - make cycling jerseys out of the same material as HRM straps.

That crash looked ouchie with Astana guys
He isn't going to sleep well

Think you could hear him in the showers from the northern hemisphere.
Encore today as a bush 1.5k out seemed to upstage an impressive number of parked cars on the parcours.

A really nice finish from Welsford today. Timed to perfection, as they would say on Masterchef.
Ineos very generously taking the lead duties from miles out with two absolute engines before delivering an impressive 13th and 19th in the sprint.
Going to take a while to get used to Jumbo Visma not being called Jumbo Visma. The new name is weak.

In an ever changing world it's always reassuring when something stays constant - thank you Ineos!

Big day for the English down under with Oscar Onley winning on Australia's biggest climb and Stephie Williams taking the overall lead.

You forgot actual Englishman Simon Yates taking 6th, continuing Jayco-Alula's domination of the battle for 5th and 6th place this week.

All this jingoistic chat is forgetting that Alaphillipe got to the top of Willunga first making a very late run for the mountains jersey.

Sounds like JA got close to a sneaky win, pipped with few hundred metres to go.

It’s racism.

He really didn't. I'm not sure if he was confused by the finish, but he went for the KoM line rather than the finish line.

DSM have to be happy about that

What's this lofty mountain like tomorrow?
