While heading out for a walk my wife asks me "Why bother with your camera on such dull day?".
My answer...
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.6 -
Don't listen to her, that's great.

And you can almost guarantee if you don't bother to take your camera, something like that will happen.

That was my rationale.

It's the same street but looking the opposite direction.
I do find taking the same/similar shot again and again a good way to pick out how to really think about getting it right.

Almost got away with a panorama shot on the impressive weir at the Mill on the Exe, but the splashing water has some odd anomalies thrown up by the camera movement.
It's deeply impressive how so much water is getting out to the sea without the major flooding it used to cause in Exeter, thanks to two major projects to manage high water flows through the pinchpoint at Exe Bridges.

There is a monumental stag on a very long estate brick wall on the A35 that has five legs: the story goes that from the house, after it had been erected in situ, it looked like it only had three legs, so they added another.
It seems, sadly, that that story isn't true... it's just there to stop it falling over.

Might dust off my camera with this change in the weather. Would have been a lovely morning for some mist shots but I was out running.

I waited around for sunset, which did light up the clouds a nice pinky orange, but the shadows grew, plunging the rest into darkness.
Nice to have some settled weather for a change.

Two for Pross from this afternoon. (Auto-processed to drop into socials. Final ones may be better).
Had to be quick. Saw the mist coming down and in both cases it was gone again in seconds.

Tonight's attempt at a sunset. Quite happy given how overcast it was. Lack of main subject though.
What you are seeing is the sun below the horizon lighting up the overhead clouds, and the reflections on the water.

Nice. The best ‘sunsets’ are those reflections. Really love the orange and black contrast.

In which case, here is one I prepared earlier. 😉 Above Dubrovnik in 2011.
