Bolted rear axle safe in turbo trainer?

Please forgive this potentially silly question... ;)

Could I safely connect my currently road-unworthy Tricross Singlecross to my Elite Volaire Mag Lite turbo trainer, given it has a bolted rear axle, rather than quick release?

The axle nuts seem to fit reasonably snugly inside the turbo clamps, but I'm after some reassurance before I try it with me sat on the bike, the last time I used this turbo trainer was a long long time ago on my quick released Felt.

Could the same be said of my Saracen, with a bolted Alfine rear axle?

    Try it I guess if it feels secure, but the (bloody expensive) Tacx nuts work well.

    Not so long ago most turbo trainers recommended the use of a bolt up wheel.

    I use my QR tt bike as well as my bolted fixie on my turbo.

    So long as the clamp is secure you are good to go.
