He is not the best looking when he takes his helmet off and he has a stupid earring but he is still young and is clearly very talented. He is more like Wiggins (grinder) then Contador (dancer) though.

If he manages to achieve a palmares even halfway as good as either of those 2 riders in his career, he will have done exceptionally well
Saturday Paris-Brussels, once a proper classic, now the 'Brussels Cycling Classic', won in the bunch sprint by Dylan Groenewegen, beating Roy Jans by less than a whisker. The commissaires spent ages studying the finish photo, and both were at several stages announced as winner
On Sunday Felline won another bunch sprint in the GP Fourmies
Boonen was third on Saturday, and second Sunday. Both times beating by less-than-world-leading sprinters (although Bouhanni was 3rd in Fourmies)...

I didn't think you could compete in another race if you had withdrawn from a stage race that was still going?
After the Nibali affair (a poster was moaning that he was being doubly punished) I am pretty certain I found it in the UCI rules and the Vuelta rulebook that you were not allowed to compete whether you had withdrawn or been thrown out
Riders can ride in other races if they get permission. This is usually given if the rider has legitimately had to retire due to injury or illness. There's no way they'll get it after a DQ though. And I don't think they're allowed to race other World Tour races.

Ah - that would make more sense. Not long after his dislocated elbow - but sometimes with dislocs they go back in and the only worry going forward is that it might get easier and easier to pop it out another time

I was about to suggest that this was Roompot's first victory but turns out that happened when they won twice on 21 August - at the Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic and the Tour du Limousin. A big day for the team in orange...
I kept trying to log on to Eurosport player to see if they were showing it but got error try again all through. Never will know if they were showing it now
LOL.
The shoot small race with at least 20 top climbers in the field.

I guess we might as well add the Giro to this thread.
The 2016 route was leaked on Cicloweb and everybody is talking about it.

Amazing screw-up on stage 5 of the Tour of Alberta. Damn it looked grim on those tracks

Groenewegen now accounts for 2/3 of their wins.

Yes very grim.
Congratulations Mollema on taking the overall but then it all came down to the TT - Slagter is the real winner.

First outing for Tao in Sky kit... not many races left for him this season.
As part of the stagiaire 'contract' he was offered 4 races max (some stagiaires only end up getting a couple of races with a team)
The Worlds dominates the second half of Sep, so whats left is, I expect, Abu Dhabi and Japan Cup
Stagiaire contract starts 1 August though... seems a long time coming to get your first race on 2 October with the season ending on 18 October.
