Stage 5, TT, US PC. Dennis wins and extends his overall lead. Tao does an amazong ride and becomes 7th just behind Phinney and less than a minute down on Dennis. Difference between 1st and 2nd covers the differnce between 2nd and 8th.
Dan Eaton also putting in a performace this race and leads the young jersey comp just ahead of Tao (they are on same team). 3rd place is Aus stagaire for Tinkoff.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Ver ver pleased for Tao with his ride last night
Rob Britton of Mike Creed's SmartStop Conti team also put in a hell of a TT to get himself up into a GC podium spot0 -

You guys sure the Vuelta doesn't belong here?
Damn, beaten to it.0 -
Andy Leigh wins stage 4 of the Tour of East Flanders, with James Shaw coming 5th for Lotto's dev team. Top that for small and shoot!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Can I just say that Carthy was on a road bike for the TT and not a TT bike - I think that he would have ridden a lot faster on a TT bike (he's not a bad time trialist as I seem to remember)... As Felix English pointed out, he looked a bit bleurgh in the TT - Caja Rural green, blue best young rider shirt, road bike and no shoe covers!http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Riding on the Aussie team, Freddy Ovett 2 places from last - uphill TTs not his thing by the look of it0 -
Vattenfall Cyclassics today - with Kittel, Greipel and Cavendish. Got to be worth watching on German tv (which I'm doing at the moment)0
-
1. André Greipel
2. Alexander Kristoff
3. Giacomo Nizzolo
4. Greg Van Avermaet
5. Tom Boonen
Greipel had a good leadout from Katusha, passing Kristoff just before the line to take a good win. No sign of Kittel, while Cav seems to have crashed at about 1.5km.0 -
Nice win for Kreuziger in US and nice work from my man Seb Henao.Contador is the Greatest0

Cool, anyway they're going over some of the roads I cycled this week. Looked like it was going to get hot today, maybe pushing 30 in the valleys.0

Tour de Poitou Charentes
New sprinter Marc Sarreau FdJ gets his first win in front of some pretty handy sprinters Farrar Hofland Coquard - in a 98 km stage - presume it was a split day with tt?
Dowsett loses 17 seconds to Malori and Castroveijo ( Martin third) in 23 km tt. Keep an eye on boy LaTour only lost a minute for 10th
Pretty good startlist in this 2.1 race
Tony Martin leading overall with this stage left0 -
They said that about the Dutch in 2000

GP Ouest France - Plouay this afternoon showing on French TV. Should be a good race to watch with a strong field - Boonen, Gilbert, Kittel, Galopin, plus Wellens after his Eneco victory, etc,
Nice to see green countryside again after several days of following the Vuelta.
Small group of four in break of just over 1 minute with 50km to go.0 -
Break reeled back in and after several attacks there is now a group of seven, including Wellens & Deignan, with a lead of 30s and 32km left. Europcar and Etixx leading the chase.0
-
20km left and gap is now just 10s. Etixx and Europcar still working hard at front of peleton while Wellens and Simon Clarke trying hard to make the break stick.0
