I have ridden a Rose Unchained. Great ride, amazing for the price. Not as linear rear suspension as most German bikes.

Not at all. A good downhill bike is very fast, they build speed over rough ground at a scary rate. Corner grip can be quite impressive and when they let go its very progressive and controlable.
They only really work properly when you are riding fast, then they just come alive and give you an ear to ear grin.

I'm giving that bike some serious consideration. Would like to see some group tests and a bit of feedback from people about what it's like to live with, but on paper it looks a good 'un. Head angle is a bit steeper than the norm these days but I'm probably splitting hairs over one degree....

Contact the UK agent, he has some demo bikes, not sure if he has an unchained or not.
Their DH team riders have been doing pretty well. Two of them are regulars at Triscombe and despite some rather crazy riding and massive jumps their bikes are holding up well.

Actually don't like it one bit that's ppp piss poor plastering. That scratch coat is terrible in the background.

Geometry on the old 223 was a bit questionable... rode alright though. Good for a cheap downhill bike.

The Sunday was a nice bike too, though I'm glad I have my reign instead.

Apparently he comes along and rides with you to answer questions and trouble shoot - uplifts included. Sounds good

I didn't ask but it's a pretty good bet given the Rose connection and the surname. I reckon I could get a few free 'Top Tips' out of a demo day

Here's my Flatline:

Absolutely love it to pieces but I'm ashamed to say it hardly every gets used anymore

Used it about 7 times last year, 4 races, 2 uplift days at Fort William and 1 at Innerleithen.
