Two weeks of cycling! I wear the skirt in our house and the wife's off for two weeks, so get ready for two weeks of shite weather over the Xmas period.
  • A pair of woolen socks. We pensioners aren't minted you know  This year has included too many 'gifts' to self to be overly indulgent. Mrs S G gets a Nexus7, so I should be in the 'good books' for the January sales :)

  • Some EPO.

I've spent far too much on bikes and accessories this year to be able to afford any more, still not any faster though.

Santa must like the mince pies down at Strada or something? Today he returned my old PowerTap hub from Strada laced into an Archetype rim. Sapim race spokes. Oh, and a matching 32H Hope III Archetype front. A nice pair of training wheels. :D

Makes my Felt B2 Pro purchase look like a Christmas jumper! Good luck to you pal.
Well, my offer's been accepted - the house is in the middle of the group in the bottom middle of this photo:

This is the photo I took on Tuesday, the day before agreeing the price with the notaire.

I'll be looking forward to temperatures in the mid 30s by August when I hope to be there for the whole month. I think I might like this present to myself.

Not for a while, as it needs work on it so it's a little more than basic - then I'll probably try the idea out with club mates first. But it's prime cycling country there - no shortage of stunning roads right from the doorstep, and halfway between Alpe d'Huez and Mont Ventoux...

Just feeling a bit pleased. The house is now officially mine. In the end it actually happened on my birthday, which was quite a nice coincidence. I can't wait to get out there now (the arrow marks the spot):
