What heart rate monitor do you recommend?

I am going to purchase a heart rate monitor and I'm wondering what everyone else recommends. In addition, I want chest heart rate monitor to connect it with my iphone. What HRM do you recommend and why?

    If its to connect to iphone, I assume you can just buy a chest strap and use an app?

    Are they all compatible with the iphone or just the Wahoo ones?

    Addidas, digifit, polar all have systems that work with the Iphone (don;t tell anyone but I;m one of those Mac owners and a bit of an apple nut)
    Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

    Lots of different standards:
    ANT+ - Garmin etc. you will need a dongle to make it talk to an iPhone
    Bluetooth - Wahoo Blue or the new Polar sensors - Talks directly to iPhone 4S onwards without a dongle.
    Proprietary - Polar, only talks to polar head units.
