Pedal thread cracked and stuck in crank

So...

I've been trying to get my bastard pedal off my cranks this evening. It has been done up so tightly that when undoing it I managed to put a crack into the slot where the allen key goes.
The crack goes into the thread and thus will not allow an allen key to grip in the slot. Is there anything I can do to now get the pedal out? Is drilling it out an option, or will I have to buy a whole new crankset...?

I take it there is no flats on the spindle to allow a pedal spanner to be used? Could be worth finding out id anyone near you has a vice that you can clamp the spindle in after removing the pedal bodies

Indeed, no flats. Very good idea about clamping the pedal spindle in a vice tho. I hadn't thought of that, thank you.

Try soaking the threads overnight in something plusgas if you have it, or WD40 if you dont. Remember to turn the cranks the right way - maybe mark them up with a direction arrow before you take the cranks off the bike
