Right,
I have a frame with vert drop outs, and i've got a single speed hub built wheel (seperate free hub thingy) with 13 teeth, with a 27tooth chain ring and ahalf link chain (the latter two are ordered but not 'ere yet) and i've worked out the oneone chain tentioner i got given is for a casette hub so isn't in line. i've been looking into the various types of tentioning devices (assuming i won't be v. lucky) and knowing i've got a half link chain en-route was thining about getting a single lift pully drop out tensioner, is this wise or should i look into the srung double pully set ups or even a BB mounted tensioner as a half link chain will be more 'accurate' to ideal tension.

what size half link chain?
Personally I would wait until you know if you actually need one."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

a bb mounted one looks pretty tidy but you do still need a bit of luck, check out my silly little bike for an idea.0

YBN - Reluctant BMX Half Link Chain if that helps.. i've gone for small sprockets as i've always thought they'd be less inclined to pinch the chain0

i was hoping that the half link chain would be that bit of 'luck'
i used to have single speed (back when the inbred was not geard or disk mountable, which had flat drop outs which is the best way of doing it (imo) and don't want rear disk0 -
my inbred will be the best way of doing it, it's got the old style flat dropouts, no disc mounts but i'm having a slotted mount welded on, it's going to be lush!0

I have this on my SS bike - works fine.

Not trying to thread jack, but what do people think of the surly singulator, good piece of kit or overpriced luxury?0

bit overpriced, a tensioner is a tensioner really...0
