What other lights would people recommend as i'll be needing some for my commutes to work in the dark soon.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?0 -
Added my name for email notification, will they be as cheap when the new stock arrives? Might nick Sarajoys when she ain't looking when her bike is outside the pubI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

The newer version for £8.95 - http://www.parker-international.co.uk/1 ... newsletter
In constant mode, this one's actually a legal light, it conforms to the relevant British standards.0 -

both lights arrived today. Unfortunately they included a catalogue of high-end gear that I have been forced to read cover to cover. No panniers though!0
-
Mine just arrived at work too!
Nice glossy catalogue, will have a read of that later!
Big savings apparently, I love a good bargain me!
PBK have always given a good service, just their stock levels can sometimes be a bit strange.

Knog's for me thanks.
Aren't decent lights more important. The knogs are OK, but ain't half as bright as a Smart or a Blackburn Mars 4.0............
Do tell me you have something better than Knogs on the front of the commuter.......
Of course - I have two Knogs on the front of the commuter!
In seriousness, the Knog Gecko I have on the back is a fine light, very bright with 6 or 7 different effects. Shame it's the wrong pink.0 -
I ordered some yesterday and they arrived today (standard delivery). Can't fault that. good spot, thanks.FCN 8

I just wasted half my lunch hour going through ALL of PBK's sale items. Nothing! (though the Descente jackets are tops if mine is anything to go by and if I needed one I'd def be considering them)0
-
Based on your recommendations I ordered one that arrived today - bloody hell it's bright!
I've just got to work out where to attach it to my bike as the Aldi undersaddle bag i'm currently using is much bigger than my old Specialised one that the zip broke on last week.
Where do you guys have your rear lights mounted, if not the seat post?0 -
im a tall git hence seat post..loads of spare due to saddle height
you may consider rucksack?
ive had one of these for 12 months and went through a whole winter of commuting on the original battery... at least i think its one battery as ive never opened it
the '' spare' arrived today0 -

whats more important.. an aldi saddlebag or a flippin great beacon that tells the world that you are on the road 8)0

The 2 innertubes and tools that are in the saddlebag, after having to call a colleague to get me when I only took 1 tube on my first day commuting
I do want to get a smaller bag again but i'll have to wait a few weeks as I've spent all my bike money for this paycheck0 -
FeynmanC wrote:Ahh, that's where the little bracket thingy goes!
Yes I have one. I'd guess it should go on the road side to avoid obstruction by the wheel and frame?
You want one for each side, well I say you do, I actually mean I do, but there you go. Ideally I'd haveone each side AND one on the seat post, I read some research a while ago that said drivers can judge closing speed easier in the dark if lights are in a triange formation, apparently the big GS1200 BMW motorbikes are much less likely to have people pull out on them, although that also could be people not wanting to killl Ewan McGregor.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

hate to say it but why dont you carry a rucksack? or pannier
If you are commuting surely you carry some 'stuff' to work and its not all in your saddlebag  .
Seriously though... i take a rucksack to work, carries puncture gear, lunchbox and clean socks, gruds and shirt..all other stuff is at work
On a day ride at weekends i bin the rucksack and attach the saddlebag with the puncture gear...0 -
I only ride in a couple of times a week at present, but want to get up to 4 times (can't monday as that's when I start at 6am), so I take in a bag with work clothes and a towel on one day, cycle the next, refresh the clothes bag the next, etc.
I think i'll give a rucksack a go to give me more flexibility on when to ride (2 days in a row if the weather is right), but 25miles with one on my back on may make me even sweatier than I usually get
I don't want panniers cos they'll look wrong andI dont really want to get the mudguards to go on my Defy 2.5 for the same reason, though it's bloody tempting not to have streams of cold road water shooting up my saddlepad :evil:0 -

they do a rucksack that sits off your back, im meaning to get one as saves the sweaty back, maybe a deuter but not sure, you may have to research
as for mudguards, its a no brainer really0 -
I use a rackbag on, errr a rack, as I hate getting a sweaty back from wearing a rucksack
I use one light on the rack (They have a plate at the back for mounting a light)
And on the rack bag there is a loop designed for a clip on light.
Voila, two lights on the rear of my bicycle

A big NO. Had an email notification of new stock today and looked at the price when I got home and the price? A mere £12.95 :x

for who....do you mean the half asleep motorist, in pissing down rain with poor wipers at 6.30am on a feb morning
heaven help the poor buggers :?
Normal lights that don't dazzle are good enough IMO, and don't actually hurt to look at like these do.
It's illegal to dazzle, I think these lights border on that.0
