Oh yeah, and I saw Carter the Unstoppable at Newcastle Uni. Cracking night that was!!

I saw Jamie Wednesday twice in 1985 or 1986, the band that were to mutate into Carter.

My claim to fame is having breakfast with sarah Cracknell of ST Etienne after the Primal scream/George Clinton all nighter at Brixton Academy...and I had hair then and cool stripy trousers.

Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman. It's got to be hot. You've got to take your time. You've got to stir... gently and firmly. You've got to grind your beans until they squeak.
And then you put in the milk.

Best claim I've got is seeing Genesis..............

......................as a support act to Lindisfarne.

I think me and my mate were the only people who were there to see Peter Gabriel strut his stuff.

and - wait for it - Sigue Sigue Sputnik - anyone remember them...???

Indeed I do, at their height they got mentioned in the local papers a lot back home, on account of one band member being from Walsall.

Got me a copy of "And the ass saw the angel" signed by Nick cave at a Glasgow gig in 1993, met him and had a nice chat.

Also my cousin got off with one of the House Martins in 1986 ish when they played in Kilmarnock.

    Tenuous now, :D

    dmclite,
Was it the Housemartin that was done for assault with an axe?!

And the ass saw the angel is a great book - there's a fantastic line about being sharp and glinting in the sun I wish I could remember. Gave my copy away

  • Frank Zappa
    Warren Zevon
    ZZ Top
    Zodiac Mindwarp
    Zu Zu Sharks

    That's it for the Zzzzzzzzzz's.

I will also be at the Fleetwood Mac gig before hot footing up to Manchester for the World Track Cycling. As long as they don't start with that nonsense about never breaking a chain they should be ok. They're on the the wife's must see list. And we all like a happy house.
If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.

    As an eighties child,

The Happy Mondays supporting New Order at the Hacienda
Stone Roses at Legends in Warrington 1989
The Charlatans again at Legends 1989

And some others, the singer out of Garbage when she was with Goodbye Mr McKenzie, playing at a local tech college in 1990

    Happy days, ish
