I wonder if I'll ever get to a stage in life where I can be unemployed and still afford to buy things.... Food Chain number = 4

In all seriousness, why? "True" commuting threads run to such exciting and pulse-racing topics as "should I get a hybrid or a MTB" (waddya think on that one, Spitchips?); "what bag should I use?"; "are hi-viz jackets/lights a good idea?" and "should I RLJ/undertake/shout at WVM etc?". Really, there's very, very little to it.
The point, though, and utility of this forum is that for a large number of adults commuting by bike represents their first return to riding since childhood. That return then becomes a springboard for all sorts of other enquiries - maintenance, new bikes, uber bikes, sportives, racing, triathlon, sponsored rides, weight loss, nutrition, hydration and so on. But those enquirers don't cease to be commuters just because they ask those questions. Turning this place into a revolving door for itinerants to swing through on their way to another forum would be a big mistake IMO.

I can kind of see Crapaud's point, but I remember when I first started on the C+ forum, Commuting was full of threads like "Cut-up by WVM", "Cut-up by BMW", "Had another near miss today", and so on ad nauseam.
It was interesting for a quick 5 min read, but I spent almost all my time in Cake-Stop and Soapbox, talking about the same sort of things we chat about here.
So, I can understand where you are coming from, but I find this the most inclusive, sociable, life-affirming and entertaining forum I've ever used. You do sometimes have to wade through the crap to get to the good stuff, but for me that's part of the enjoyment.

Nope I practice the safety in numbers camouflage, lots of bikes all together in one place mostly the same colours, works a treat, if any suspicions are raised then resort to the age old "I've had that for ages routine"
