It was on the 10th June, so couple of weeks. I should have had them out earlier but it got infected. Seems like ages for me, not been able to get out on the bike; but then again Wyre Forest has been like a river recently so my mates tell me, so haven't missed it too much [:D]

When I was a kid I hit a rut at 90 degrees turning the handle bars and burying them end first into my abdomen. Que much pain and the odd feeling of needing a pee.

Needless to say I punctured my blader and spent a week in hospital peeing blood!

My old man had some cracking tales from 35 years of road racing.

Had an off when i was younger on my racing bike fitted with cow horn handlebars. Went over a jump, landed back wheel first, smacked my face on the bars then took the impact of the ground with my knees. Nice cuts to the bridge of my nose and above my left eye as well as 2 black eyes and knees that were swollen that much i could hardly walk. Will always remember the to**er of a doctor at A&E bending my legs "does it hurt when i do this?" The b*****d. Although they did a good job of stitching my face up.

doctors love to cause you more pain than you are already in,, i have had them do it a few times when i broke my arm and you could see the bone throught the skin they started to bend my arm just to see what i had actually done, durrrrrr[B)] painfull,[^]

A few years ago, i was out on the road bike with my mate. We locked handlebars during a sprint and tried to pull them apart. Both hit the deck and i woke up with my head under the bumper of a car which was following. About 1ft the other way and i would have been under the wheel. Knocked myself out when i got a fright and wacked my head of the underside of the car!!!

Still love road bikes tho!!!

Ran into a couple of guys at the summit of Glentress who worked at the hub and they said there boss came off bad in Spooky Wood. Broke his neck and his back in two places and was in a neck to waist cast for 6 months whilst everything fused back together...that kinda made me think a little!
