Have you got a link to any race info? I don't have transport but as long as it's accessible by train I might give it a go. Where in Manchester are you? I used to live in Fallowfield [:D]

Cheers Al. Looks fun, alot different to what I'm used to. Will do some more investigating tomorrow but it seems not too far from the rail connection.

I use Paul Comp (www.paulcomp.com) brakes on the SS, because:
a; They appeal to the luddite in me
b; They are light
c; They work (very) well
d; They fit in with the whole SS ethos
Anyhoo, lots of people knock V's and they do work. It just means i go through more rims than my other bikes with discs. [;)]
As for racing, you should give it a go. It rocks. Sport classes are more about taking part than the winning.
24h racing is where it's at for me. It's an incredible challenge, but at the end of the day, you are really racing yourself and seeing how far you can push yourself. The atmosphere and social scene is great too.Roadie

avid arch rivals for me. not uber light, but uber powerful, doddle to set up and great stopping power, combined with speed dial 7 levers.

A good V brake, with the right pads and rims can rival any disc in the dry, and with ceramic be also good in the wet.
