Air-con is simple though. [;)]

yes it is. i spent years designing then to be nice and simple.
[:(!] one of the latest V6's was a PIG to route. there was just not enough room.

You mean designers do occasionally consider the fact that somebody may have to replace components at some point during a vehicles life?
Rather than just bolting them into whatever corner just so happened to be convenient (If I ever get to meet whoever decided to put the fuel filter on diesel accords down behind everything on the bulkhead, they won't be designing much for quite some time!)

yes we do sometimes think about things like that. not often though as we have someone shouting at us to make it fit. but they do give us clearance "boxes" which we have to allow for. now who comes up with the small gap that we have to respect i have no idea.
but being a mechanic first helps.
and the Honda no idea but i guess our freinds in Japan have smaller hands/tools. [}:)]

Collected my car after 3 days in the garage, told me they had replaced a brake switch, drove car away and first time i step on the brakes the exact same fault occurs.
Took it back and they looked again and now inform me that they have noticed the brake fluid level was low and they have found a leak in the slave cylinder and it has to be replaced.
So this says to me that someone just plugged in a diagnostic of some sort and just replaced the part that was flagged and did not even look into the basics or test drive after they had finished.
Can you see why I dispair at main dealer garages.
PS Don't by a Vauxhall Zafira they suck!!

LOL classic GM repair issues. Zafira they forgot the threadlock the lower part of the engine bolts (sits in the coolant in the lower part of the engine) basically the engine worked itself loose and blew the thing apart.
we took it and it was in peices so we got in indi garage to look at it they advised no threadlock on the lower bolt threads as CLEARLY marked in the manual... ohh dear..

I'd rather have a zafira than anything with a renault badge on it!
And GM isn't the only one who forgot to put loctite on certain important bolts. TD4 with loose oil pump anyone?
