Definetly going to be using my HT at the weekend, not getting the RM back untill Saturday afternoon as it needs quite a few new bits added to it and a service.

10.30 sounds good - gives me just enough time to wash, condition, style and blow-dry my hair.

Really good ride today, felt like a ping ball at times going down bits of Plora Craig but great fun. Managed to get over the Rock Garden at Plora Craig so was chuffed with that as I normally struggle on my FS never mind on my HT with knackered 80mm forks that I was out on today. Especially as a few guys on big travel bikes didnt get across it just after us[:)]
Might not do Inners on the HT again but looking forward to my next ride out on it already[:D].
Hope all the guys who went back up again had fun, sorry I had to leave [:(] I have got my RM back now with all its shiny new bits and the brakes are also working now which is a bonus so it was worth leaving a bit early[^]

Cool, shiny new bits are always good.
We split at the top, some did gold run, others make or break, i discovered a new line i had not seen before, one of the steep rocky pitches after the drops on Caddon bank has a rock you can launch off for another nice 3 or 4 foot drop.
Once back in Glasgow we refilled the camelbacks and drove to Loch Lomond, and pushed half way up the Ben, to Halfway Well, the descent was amazing, right up there with the best, no walkers either as it was late. Tight rocky turns, slabs, wee drops and water bars, 400m drop in just over a mile. Stoked.
SX Trails and Lyriks are very fine things indeed, unless climbing!0 -

Sounds really good - you must be knackered now though
Your new bike looks reaaly good, I really liked the forks, just seemed nice and solid, really good for confidence when you have a well put together bike to ride on. I am sure you will get used to it and be back to your speed climbing again soon[:)]
I really need to start trying to get an occasional day pass from the wife so I can stay out with you lot all day and explore Inners a bit more.

Cheers mate, i'm so happy with it, eats the bumps but is still pretty agile. Doesnt feel as heavy to ride as it was to carry, once i get the shock dialled and a proper working drivetrain it will crawl up hill just fine.
Drumlanrig in the morning, hurrah! Hope the pie shop in Thornhill is open.0 -
I surprised myself be getting really into the exploration of the older tracks and trails at Innerleithen - even the pushing the bike up bits!
That Ben Lomond descent sounds like fun. Really want to get up to do the infamous loop and descent from Kinlochleven up to the reservoir.
Am seriously considering giving flat pedals a go for that kinda stuff...

Another new bike? Have the NHS started paying you in bikes, instead of cash? [;)]
Andy, if you do decide to go back to flats, make sure you start on the easy stuff first!
And try them for a good few weeks before you decide to bin them again [;)]

BTW Stu, how you getting on with the lack of seat post height adjusment on the SX?
That was the sole reason for me not buying one. Cuuldn't get the post up high enough on the large, and I couldn't get it far enough down either.

A telescopic one is in the post, a normal one doesnt give a good climbing position once its been cut short enough to drop the saddle all the way.0
