I don't really have time to start an evening class in art as I want to learn Norwegian this coming year which is enough of a headache as it is. I'm also not sure I would want to draw at 7pm for 2 hours every Tuesday or are evening classes in art not like that?(never done one before).
I've got loads of A4 plain paper at work and several 'better' pads of paper for more serious efforts but we'll see how I get on.
As for charcoal, I've never used it and wouldn't know where to start. Is it graded like pencils if so what do I get? What pencil do I get? More than one?
It's no wonder I can't get started when I haven't even got a pencil. I sure I had one a minute ago, where do they all go?
Thanks for the advice from you all, Hope you all get going soon.

as i said, if you have no art shops nearby, a large WHSmith should stock some charcoals/pastels/pencils (proper art ones, not the ones with the rubbers on the end [;)]) so you can at least make a start. bikeybikey0

Lol. Check behind your ear!!!
My hubby can come home from work and get changed and washed and STILL have a pencil tucked behind his ear!!
Go for soft pencils. I use a 2B as a basic drawing pencil, usually a 4B as well. Having said that I also have some nice drawings I've done in bic biro, its all about experimenting.

Nathan,
Why not try to do an adults kids book/comic type thing, you've obviously got something there and it's suprising how these sort of things can take off. Think Viz and those teddy bear figures in the S&M get up.
You could try doing some comic style strips - I'd like to know how Winnie The Pooh got his bile tap fitted - did a band of Russian Gypsies happen to pass through the 100 Acre Wood one day and capture him? Did Tigger & Piglet have to mount a daring escape?
You never know, you could end up with a little comic to sell to students and before you know it you could be as rich as the Donalds (have I get that right - the Viz creators?)
Jim.
