personally i think they should just start again from fresh. (ok let the mods/admins get settled) and then just let everyone rergister, start a fresh.

it clears out a lot of dead wood etc....

I agree with nicklouse, how many people registered originally with good screen names and do not use it anymore, starting a fresh would free these names up.

Give a 2 month period of grace, but remove all accounts that haven't been used for 2 months or more
