New chain, swapsies?

As I'm in uncommonly good humour today, I'd like to propose an exchange. I have just taken delivery of a brand new SRAM PC991 Hollow Pin chain. For reasons I shall explain upon request, I no longer need it.

Rather than give it away (it cost me œ34 and I'm not *that* generous!) I would like to swap it for something.

If you would like the chain and you have something useful, intriguing or daft which you think I may like in return, I shall consider your offer [8D]

well my chain suck is so bad it has worn out all the compolents on my drive chian. Which means a œ165 of new stuff bugger that teh new bike down the drain!!!

I'm paying out œ150 (give or take a fiver) this weekend for (and this is the reason for the redundant SRAM chain): -

Set of Middleburn hardcoat slickshifts (46/34/24t)
KMC X9-SL Gold chain (yeah baby!)
Shim HG-50 cassette (does the job)
Fitting of all above

Job, as they say, is a good 'un.

What about swapping for an Apollo "get-you-started" bike tool kit? Comprises 1 rounded 5mm hex key, flat spanner with various holes and cut-ins and a poly bag with a hole in the corner. Oh, and a 120-page Halfords disclaimer manual.

The first quote they gave me was œ128 not including the cassette. I'm assuming they are only going to charge œ20 extra for the HG-50 (that's all they are really worth) so I rounded up to œ150. Their price for the Middleburn rings was about œ10 over what I can buy them for, but their price for teh KMC chain was rock-bottom.

I also lack the tools for removing my crank or cassette. Besides, this is my drivetrain we're talking about, I would much rather have the shop fit everything (this first time, at least). It's my first dealings with the shop (any shop, since I phoned Dave Mellor cycles and they gave me a load of guff).

I've a couple of things I might buy as well, whilst I'm there. I need some more wet lube, a helmet, more GT85, a brush for cleaning chainrings and cassette, inner tubes etc.

What's the difference between Deore cassette and HG50? PS: The best drivetrain prices I can find are at Merlin. Free delivery this week (and goods arrive next day).
